Elusive Schrades

Probably not all that exclusive by any means, but these earlish Matchstrike Pull 8ot's are darned hard to find- especially in Mint condition such as this Carbon Steel beauty....

I know next to nothing about Schrades so I'm not sure how rare or elusive this pattern is, but I picked up this nice 294 last week. I thought it had a cool blade combo but I couldn't find a whole lot of info online about it. Anybody know any more about this pattern or about how old it is? Jigged delrin so I'm guessing late 60's at the earliest? The knife is in pretty good condition apart from some scratches. I'm really impressed with the build quality, it has excellent action and F&F.

Nice, useful knife!!!

I happened upon this one recently. A 1950’s 293 with beautiful bone. Pretty good shape other than the spey, which looks like someone took it to a grinder and stopped after they hogged off a bunch of steel from the front of the blade. The original finish is intact and doesn’t appear to have been messed with.

This CUT. CO. pen knife is my first venture into older knives. It's not in pristine condition by any means, but it' still solid, and after flushing it and working the blades a little, it has better snap than a lot of my new GECs. I don't know a date, other than 1917 - 1946, although I would guess earlier in that time frame due to the style of jigging. I've looked at a few old catalogs I found online but haven't located this version with no bolsters, so I don't know a model number either. It's 3 3/8" long. I think it's interesting that the covers are different colors. I wonder if they started out the same color and changed over time.
