Elusive Schrades

What a KNIFE Jason!!! The Bolsters, the Bone, blade selection---WOW what a knife...

Well Russell, thanks, and here is a real long, real swoopy blade for you. Thanks to Hal for bringing it to my attention - maybe you can provide some data, Hal?

A big 4" long, with the original finish and factory edges, this is a nice example of the Peachseed genre!

Single backspring, so it's nice and slim in that dimension also!

It appears this was a variation of the 861 minus a spring and minus the sheepsfoot, otherwise the same knife. Schrade Walden made this pattern, as far as I can see in the catalog price lists, from around 1950 - 1955. I've seen the same knife with both blades stamped SCHRADE WALDEN N.Y. I have to believe this beauty falls in the UNCOMMON to RARE category. That bone looks good enough to chew on.

Hi folks, I am sure this knife is a Schrade, I purchased it from one of our darned good guys here, and he seemed to think it was because of the Heritage stamping, I have studied this knife for some time and I too think its a Schrade made knife, what say you, if you don't think this is, of course I will remove this post.
I love the Bone on this knife....

Very nice Charlie and unusual combination of blades, I do like the slim blade on the 861 models. Nice example of peach seed bone to finish it off.

Picked up this Scharde Walden NY USA #294 1/2 Trapper, Still has factory edge and some great looking peachseed jigged bone,
nice colors...imho. Full blades and excellent action. Spots on main and few on pen because it wasn't stored correctly.

Good going on finding such a nice specimen Jason! One model that has eluded me in good enough collectible condition.

Duncan that sure looks like a Schrade, smells like a Schrade, and by gum,
it tastes like a Schrade!!
Must be a Schrade!!
First time I've ever seen that version! Very cool looking!

Thank you Charlie-that was a good chuckle!
yeah - I am not too sure what is going on with the Bone-or stamping whether it was a SFO of sorts? never to mind, its a great knife, and a thank you to my friend who sold it to me

Here are two of my Latest Schrades, these to me are pretty Elusive, and I just couldn't go past these, for one, the Red Bone is a perfect twin for my 1960's Black O/T, and the Stag O/T is simply a gorgeous knife.
I took a few hurried shots outside today just to capture the two '60's Old Timers together, and then do a group shot that includes the Buck 60's Schrade -made knife as well..

This thread just hums along below the surface, and sticks its head up every once in a while!
I have been meaning to scan and post this one for a long time. Got it during a brief visit to the Queen show in July, and it came from the estate of a past Camillus president. There were a lot of knives in that estate, but most were out of my league - up in four figures!!
So, my humble little Sportsman's knife for your viewing pleasure:
