Elusive Schrades

Thanks Jeff and Ken. I had it on BL's forum trying to establish authenticity or not. Nothing was ever nailed down. It looks good up close, but I'm no expert. The handles threw me off,but #'s and blades matched up and the stamp looks original.

Whew, I spied that in Bernards Forum....that my friend is one neat knife, who else does bone like that Peechseed like Schrade?

Just Beautiful, and thank you so much for sharing with us.

It is great score, Bernard always says see the knife not the maker mark, and with this knife you can not be wrong, Schrade it is.
Mike

I agree, it's a Schrade. I never knew they made anything for Winchester, but stranger things have occurred with Schrade!
Beautiful knife!!

I may have posted this one before and if I did, these are new shots...

I got this old fellah of the bay for next to nothing. Some 'idjit tried to sharpen it with a dremmel. Really. Fixed up the blade, put a patina on it and took it out snow camping last week.

My kid made a sheath for the knife for Christmas. His first shot at tooling leather. Obviously, the sheath is more valuable to me than the knife is.

I rely on gas stoves for winter camping. Still, nice to have a fire when the land allows it and nice to have a knife to help with that (the folding saw is more important, but I digress).

Nice knife and pictures Pinnah.

The pattern I love in "Schrades". My photography is found wanting. Nevertheless

Amazing group of knives, wlfyjr! That bone is just beautiful...

I ran into a guy today that has a virtual Schrade museum in his little knife shop. He must've had 60+ of the old switchblades in jigged bone alone, most in excellent condition. He also had multiple displays sets of Waldens, the whole visit was completely unexpected and very overwhelming. If/when I get back down to his shop I'll ask him if I can take some pics and post them here, I think ya'll will be amazed!

Beautiful set ya got there wlfryjr, I'm jealous! :D

wlfyjr, those are absolutely stunning!!! Thank you for showing us your great knives.

Paul

That's a sweet buncha Farmers! Nobody did it like Schrade!!!!

(sniff . . . . . .I miss that company . . . . . .sniff!)

Sorrry Charlie and thanks, and thanks to all you guys for the nice comments.

They are tough to find.

That is quite the collection of farmers jacks!

Got this utility knife the other day. It looks to be unused, but there are some stains on the main blade. The bone is more of a uniform brown all the way across than what my bad phone pics are showing. Solid knife with strong snap on the screwdriver and can opener back spring. First peach seed Schrade for me.

That's a beauty Mike,how do you like that peachseed?:D

It has to be the best looking bone or maybe any handles on a knife ,at least for me.

Very nice! What is the little blade with the thumbstud for? Is that meant to be used as a can opener?

Great looking knife Mike! You always find the good ones...;) Thanks
for sharing buddy...
