End the Mystery... the Grab Bag image thread!

Here you go, guys. My pictures are absolutely terrible. I seriously considered just not even uploading them. I came to the conclusion that any picture is better than no picture at all.

The handle material and the pins were made in our shop by the boys in the Crab Shack.

Congrats on your score!

The metal material in the handle is called "swarf". In other words, machining waste, or shavings. Usually Aluminum. The counter tops in the office building I work at are made of 2" solid slabs of this stuff, except using clear resin. LINK It's pretty cool stuff! :D

However, if this stuff in your handle was made in-house as Jerry states above, could that be INFI swarf in your handle???

I haven't posted to BF in forever, but I did get in on a $250 bag and figured I'd share my score. I was hoping for something a little "choppier" and I'm not too hot on solid Orange G10, so I may "rehome" this one, but overall the MOFO is a sweeeeeet blade and I love the CBT.

*Edit* don't mind me (or the 17 edits), just trying to post a picture

I wasn't too keen on those orange handles either but I got an ASH2 with them on the last grab bag run. I stripped it and now I actually think that the orange looks pretty sweet with bare steel.

I didnt get in on the grab bags but I bought someone elses on the exchange. It was a little over cost but couldnt resist, Jerry hooked it up. Ill take sr101 x4 for $500 all day at random.

One "dude." I'm picturing some kind of terminator robot with grinders for arms.

One arm ends in a grinder...the other ends in various bottle and can holders w/ an attachable beer cozy option..

He put the edge on my MOFO...I could clean and fillet a trout w/ it

LMAO!!! BEEF, the muscle-bound, grinder drinker man! A new superhero emerges!!! :D Some talented artist among us needs to draw this up!!!

I just received my $500 grab bag and I'm quite happy with it. A Pork Chop Battle Grade in my favorite all around color combo, black coating with black micarta. A Custom Shop Ergo Mini Muk with red liners and an interesting scale material. I'm not sure what the material is (Mammoth perhaps?), but it's very comfortable in hand and the transparent red pins are a really cool touch. I also got a SYKCO Scrapivore with what appears to be a double cut finish. Two of my three blades are uncoated, and one is INFI, can't ask for any better than that!

If anyone knows what the scales are please let me know.

The ones with a "BEEF" sticker are the only sharp ones I've gotten yet- yeah, the others will cut, and I can scrape hair- but a Beef sticker means scary sharp, like, don't go playing with this. Of course I was passing one around at work and there's always that one guy who's gotta be smarter than everyone else and well... it got all messy ya know. I told him...

Beef gets them pretty sharp but for regular production knives the most evenly ground blades from one side to the other have been from Allen and Denny (I think that was his name). I'll take a concentric grind over a non concentric grind any day and just touch it up myself. I have had a couple that were done by Garth and they were about as perfect as a knife can get. Even grinds and rediculously sharp.

Denny and Garth, both lay outstanding edges..

Had a CS RMD w/ Denny's edge and an NMSFNO w/ a Garth edge..both, top,top

Nice box, Z-hntr!

That muk is a beauty!

I've seen a pic of him once, posted a while back. That's not too far off base. If I remember right, he praise Jerry as the best boss ever, and then posted a pic of his new ATV.

If you go the Busse Combat Knives Home Page(where you order) the Guy at the Grinder is BEEFarino doing what he does best Making Sparks....Allen and Denny both put good Keen edges on knives as well at the Swamp and Scrapyard.
There used to be some good photos of Garth, Beef and a few others but with the photobucket highjacking they are probably lost forever!!!
