Well, I'm going to say something that surely someone in the knife industry would be honked off about if they read it...but...maybe that's why ESEE Knives are so good.

Don. that's exactly why ESEE knives and prducts are so good. We're not politically correct. We don't play by the "honorable" businessman's bullshit rules and ethics that say you can't call a spade a spade because he/she happens to be a "brother in the industry and even though he's screwing up he's just trying to do good like everyone else. So don't tell on him." The ONLY thing (and I do mean ONLY thing outside of our trusted vendors and family such as the Rowens) that is important to ESEE is it's customers. Period. There was another knife company like us that didn't last. I won't name any names but they were good folks but about as against the grain as you could find. Maybe we're dinosaurs also. So be it, but customers come first, vendors second and our own paychecks third in our world.

well, that's beat.

Everyone here on blade still supports you guys though. We know that you all have a really quality product in the works, and we full well believe that it will come through at some point. When? who knows yet, but there are tons of other ESEE products that will be purchased in the folder's place. Plus if it gives you guys anytime to find a usa company to produce your blade...we will be here with our cash waiting on this fine piece of cutlery. :)

"ESEE Knives - Soon to be featuring Rearden Metal..."

Is there an ESEE CHOO-CHOO TRAIN in the works or what? You layin' down the tracks? :D

I'm more the Francisco and Mike is pure Ragnar.

The funny thing is, that there is still a possibility that the ESEE-3 folder will ship before the elusive DPX Hest folder!!!

:D :p

WOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!! DAMN, LOOKS LIKE TWISTER LANDED IN HERE!!!

Looks good, I read all the pages, most of the posts, and there are a few things I do want to point out,

Shon Rowen made a post
ESEE3 Folder will be made
R.A.T is a handsome fellow, with or without a mustache. Kinda like a Redneck James Bond.

Just sayin', Howdy.

It is a bummer to know that the deal did not go thru because of some "miscommunication". The good part is that the folder will be made in the good ole USA. I guess I and a lot of fellow forumites can wait a bit longer. Just my 2 cents.....

I think it's great. You can get a HEST folder from Lion Steel and a ESEE folder from another maker. To be honest I was kind of down about both knives being made be Lion Steel and being too similar in build and features. the more companies involved the better the features and it drives innovation/quality(not that ESEE has any issues with that)...bring on the Laser Strike!

I'm also psyched that it will be made by Rowen just so we know the quality of the steel/knife that we are going to get before we get it. If you get too many manufacturers making your knives people will say 'company x should've made it they are way better' and the bickering would never end.

This is what got me. It is hard to delay anything and still come out looking cool. Pull it together and not cry and stomp your feet over spilt milk. Well put Moose ..... I think.

:D :p

Not true my friend. Pelton has the LE models in his hands and is signing the certificates and tightening the screws as we speak over his celebratory beer!!!:D Go to the DPx Forum and read the brand new post.

I was skimming this thread earlier before Shon posted and was going to say "one door closes, another opens." And you couldn't ask for a better door to have open for you.

This is personally what I wanted to see happen from the beginning. I was in the minority with LionSteel when the question was posed. I understood and respected though at the time there were some issues with finding someone stateside to make the 3F.

But this makes me immensely happy. This is easily the best possible outcome to this. ESEE's should be made by Rowen..period. Happy to hear this has worked out. Will buy one without question now. Excellent news!

I've been bouncing back and forth between both ESEE and Dpx's forums and was thinkin for the last few days that Gianni/Lionsteel has had so many problems w/ the production of the HEST Folder that this ESEE3 folder was going to follow that same path

R.A.T. this is probably a blessing in disguise and will save you a lot of heartache in the future IMHO...It's just a minor setback when you look at the big picture

I'm confident you'll find a way to get this off the ground and into production

but if he had reservations about doing the project he should have told us this at SHOT when he met with us, and not waited until after he had bigger and better orders. Obviously $$ and profit mean much more than keeping a deal.

WOW, Jeff I'm really sorry to hear that man.. I'm a small business owner and had a very similar situation just happen to me at Christmas of all times..

Big let down for sure.. but if its any consolation to you I think ALL things happen for a reason, this is just another reason..

I appreciate the way you conducted yourself:thumbup:

Take care,

Rob

Well........let me jump into this "discussion": I really didn't have any problems with the ESEE 3 being made by Lion in Italy: But I am totally on board with it being produced in the USA by Shon Rowen.

It don't get no better than that!!!!
