esee5 review chat!!!

oh man! i thought i'd have a bit longer... i sgould be healed up enough to handle a review. can't wait!

I'm off on the timeframe, I don't even know what week of the pass around we're in now.

Messer should have the knife and it should have already been shipped out to Otis? I thought the whole deal was to keep eachother in the loop of where it was. Please, not again!

ETA, I shot Messer an quick email just checking on status. I'm sure he'll post here or I'll hear back soon.

its 5 weeks to the day since i received it and it shld be on to the 5th person-i think its going rather well, so far.....

I made the decision to get the 5 based on the review that I read here. I knew I wanted a 4 or 5 but decided that the 5 fills a void that I have in my military kit. (I have an Izula that I have on my military gear)

SJ - you did some great testing with it and you convinced me that this was tougher than nails. I don't know what else you could have done. It was very thorough. Thanks.

Adam04 - your size comparisons really helped me understand the size difference not only in overall length but the girth and blade width. Personally I passed on a 6 because I have a BK7 and felt like the BK7 filled the spot well and it was gifted to me so it stays in the arsenal. :) I liked how you strapped it to the H20 pouch. You could fill the small pocket with an small space blanket, fire kit, first aid, etc and hit the trail for a day hike or make it a PSK.

Caine - I like the way for used the paracord wrap and using the clip upside down. I may put this on my IBA this way. I'll have to try it.

Thanks to all for the great work. This soldier appreciates it!

thanks dude. really appreciate yr response. and yr service!
yeah im definitely gonna be the owner of an esee5 sometime soon. my pops n oldest brother(my hunting, fishing, hiking, camping gurus during my formative yrs) were of the "smaller is better" school of knives. and i sorta followed in their footsteps over the years. but the past few i have really begun to appreciate and enjoy the use of larger knives

Sorry guys if I missed that I was supposed to post when I received it or if I have had it too long. It is totally my fault but I forgot all about the pass around until it got here!! I do have it, I have started my prelim in the evenings but I worked 70 hours last week including 40 hours over the weekend and got a new Brittany Spaniel puppy so my world has turned upside down! I have this weekend off so planned to do some stuff in the daylight outside.

To add problems...on my day off today my internet has been down all day so I went in to work to check on another post I sent and saw this at the top of the page.

Sorry Tony and others if I messed up. I'll post something this weekend.

naah - it's the survivor thing.
last reviewer standing gets the knife -- Adam's just trying to whittle down the competition early...

I always said if I got voted off Survivor, instead of letting Jeff extinguish my torch I would mix it up and throw the lit torch into the set of grass huts. I’d get some publicity if I don’t get the prize money.

Life happens, things pop up. The agony of reading all of Tony’s 7 rules was almost more than I could bear. :D Oh and you’re right GD, I have lost my mind over the last month or so.

survivor must have been STRESSFUL

Yeah the competitions were cake and I obtained my own food, water and fire within the first 30 minutes there. The hard part was keeping all the scantily clad chicks off me. I’m a married man for Pete’s sake!

People tell me that all the time right after they tell me how awesome and ruggedly handsome I am. :D
