I had picked that Purple scales version, and now I wish I'd grabbed the Damascus with Ultem model...

Black Friday Week was pretty good for me. My plan was to see if the Ka-Bar Kephart was on sale and it was! I rounded out my Kephart collecting for 2023 to fill a hole in my collection with the Ka-Bar Becker Kephart (top), which like the others was inspired by the original design of Horace Kephart. The regular price was a bit steep, but for $50 off it was a reasonable price.

Another knife that had been on my List for a while, but I felt was too overpriced to justify buying was the Kansept Convict. It's a well machined knife, with blue anodized titanium handle and a CPM S35VN sheepsfoot blade, designed by Chris Conway (designer of the Kizer Sheepdog series I also like). On sale for $100 off the regular price was well past the breaking point for me, putting it at the same cost as a Kizer Sheepdog XL with a carbon fiber scales. Being right handed, the right handed opening "shelf" doesn't bother me and doesn't seem to get in the way when using it.

Just a couple days ago I said how I was finished buying knives...well...

I was on Buck's website and see they have the 110 with nickel silver and ebony in a drop point blade. I was going to get the s30V steel but they were out of stock and I've had years of good experience with their 420, plus, it was only about $73 on sale. They're getting their ebony from Taylor guitars so that's sort of cool even though I've been a Martin guy.

Perhaps my favorite pocket knife of all time is their 501 Squire (of which I have three) and a few years back, I picked up a Duke 500 so getting a 110 with nickel and a drop point blade seemed like a good idea. I've got a couple traditional 110s so this one is different enough I wanted it. It'll be a week or so before I get it but here's a photo from their site:

Well…… I bought my first Safe Queen. I have never bought a knife and not put it in the rotation. This one will NOT go into rotation. I’m a little embarrassed. My camera skills are far too lacking for this knife.

I didn't know Spartan starting running MagnaCut. Very cool!
I think Spartan is phasing out S45VN for MagnaCut, they had all their S45VN blades 25% off for Black Fri/Cyber Mon. I picked up this SHF 3.25, actually sold one of back in May on the exchange and kind of missed it, with the 25% discount plus an additional 10% on top of that for being a Vet I could not say no.
