It's funny, we all try to get along until "serious" matters are discussed and then the real "us" pokes it's head out and BAM... I don't what happens, but it starts with BAM! Then again this is a knife forum and most knife nuts are well.. I love knives- but that doesn't MEAN ANYTHING BESIDES I LOVE KNIVES.. I'm only here to check out knives, buy/sell knives and appreciate some makes that I can relate too.. But this forum (not daniel's, but BF in general) has way too much "stuff" beyond that that is turning me off big time. I'll be checking out usual suspects as my only knife hang out soon.. I'd rather stay here but jesus f I'm over how this site is run and by what type of people..

had to get that off my chest :) SMOKES!

sloth357, I hope you stick around!

Unfortunately, high-traffic forums tend to become soapboxes. Hopefully the mods keep the traffic in the off-topic forums though, so it is easier to bypass.

Morning men.Sloth I hope you stick around. I have limited my self to only a few areas here on BF. I like well of course Daniel's forum and occasionally will venture over into the WSSF because I am a wilderness nut but 90 % of that is guy's posting about taking a hike down an established trail. When we talk about hike up here it is through trackless woods to a hidden lake on a Topo to do some serious fishing. But there are a lot of great guy's over there that are serious and that is why I go there from time to time.

Ugh, get to the DMV 45 minutes early and the line is already down the side of the building...thank god for smart phones and mobile internet!

Good stuff!

Well, my wallet is $350 lighter now. And nothing to show for it! Not even a cool new knife or handle material or tools or anything! This state is running a racket with this crap.

Ok, calmed down. Finishing a buckwheat crepe with fresh asparagus, chicken, white wine sauce and sauteed fungus. Vieux Carré style breakfast. I'm even a member of their Krewe here at the restaurant!

xander, try going to AAA on march ln next time 10 min. in and out. can I get some grind time in today?hope everyone is doing well.

you should have seen the DMV in Phoenix.. so many "new drivers" trying to get their first license.. it was always an easy 2 hour tour de hell.. just like the good ol' Primus song..

Of course most of the people didn't speak english and that added to the FUN factor... nothing against immigrants.. BUT DAMN THE DMV SUCKED...

I hate lines though.. and waiting.. "I HATE THE WAIT" name the movie that quote is in and I will give you a big high five :D

Dude, I can tell how long its been since you have driven a car, that office moved out to Trinity Prkway a while ago. I had a special situation that couldn't be taken care of by AAA, I couldn't even pay over the phone, they required me to go to the office. Lucky me I get to go back tomorrow...but then I will be done with this whole mess.

Sloth, I live in a major agricultural region, believe me I know what that is like. Although now I kind of treat it like a live Monty Python's Ministry of Funny Walks. Today I saw a guy that was OBVIOUSLY high, likely on meth waiting in line with his drivers permit in hand. He was tattooed all over his face and head, standing there all puffed up like a blowfish trying to look tough! I wasn't going to challenge him for sure, but I laughed out loud about it! He's probably one of those guys that the "system" is keeping down...

Well, out to the shop I go! Should have some company if Kevin ever gets off of here and heads over...

Dude, that is killer! Where is that from? We need more T-Shirts, that is a cool design. Change out the grip for a knife handle.

I like the song but not the place! Sometimes it is really bad here and sometimes the place is almost empty, Saturdays it is just crazy! Last time I went in TX I wore my Primus shirt and had an old lady ask "what is pork soda" lmao!!!

LOL!!! Tweakers are weird people, I never could figure out why some people don't like to sleep! My friends neighbor was a meth head and, he had monitor lizards "guarding" his home and one night he moved his front door to the side of his house. Who the heck decides at 10 pm to do major construction!

In St.Thomas we had tons of crazy but mostly harmless crackheads, they were wild! Anyone need their car washed with a windex bottle full of water? They had a crackhead band where they all had homemade instruments,it was entertaining I will say that!

I'm taking a break from working on stuff, it has been a productive day to say the least! Video later...

Sweet looking forward to the video!!!I grew up in the projects outside of Detroit.I saw a lot of crack heads and meth heads.Learned how to fight early in life to keep people from taking your stuff! Then working 24 years in law enforcement I have seen what and how drugs completely destroys lives. I remember the first suicide I saw working in the prison. A heroin addict that could not handle the withdrawals and hung himself. I did CPR for what seemed an eternity before the ambulance arrived. Then they had to get the IV in and had to go through his femoral artery because all of his veins were collapsed.I have a boat load of true stories that people who have never worked in that environment would never understand.

scuse me. Daniel- Research Yoroi Toshi. :)
Carry on.

Will do! I'm not kidding when I say you have turned me on to more knife related stuff than just about anybody. I have a LOT of seriously good help around here.

Big Country, Big Respect for all you have done.

I'm cleaning and shutting down for the evening, I can smell food cooking! Video uploading...

Xander, I owe you a video, I was hoping to do it today but was in the shop almost non stop... very soon. :D

Still uploading video, I'm glad I loaded half this morning! Youtube is slow this time of night.

It was a long day and I'm really itchy but man it was a good one, I love making knives!

Back in line at the DMV again this morning. Good thing is that his trip should take care of everything and I won't need to come down here anymore. I think I'll go to this great little mexican restaurant that's down the street from here, get some Machaca to go and head home.

Hopefully I can get some more work done on the mini, I need to figure some things out on it. That fine silver I'm using is pretty soft but work hardens very quickly.

Well hot damn! I get in DMV and first thing they announce is that their call system (ticket number) is down and everyone will be processed accordingly...

So they take all people with appointments first, I had an 8:20, there were four people in front of me, I check in and the lady says to walk over to window 21 they can help you! WTF?! Getting excellent service at the DMV?! I was out of there by 4 minutes after 8:00 am! Sweet! Now I'm back home about to destroy a plate of machaca, this restaurant has the best around. Believe me, this is the second nicest city in Mexico (sure feels that way), bad mexican food doesnt last long around here.

Salud!
