Yeah that's about what I was thinking, one pin hidden tang. I did put a pic up over in the custom forum seeking advice about a handle.

Fishing was ok for the first hour at the tide change, but once the ebb picked up it stopped. Great day, though. Except my dumbass played hookie from work and forgot to put sunscreen on! Oh well, my boss is usually hung over on Thursday mornings so I think I can pull it off. Did land a nice 3lbs large mouth though.

I think an interstate DFK get together is a great idea! I am anxiously waiting for my invite and plane ticket...

I hope the boss doesn't notice... 3lb that is huge, very nice! I need to find a nice private place to fish, I grew up with a pond and it still ticks me off having a game warden come interrogate me every time I go fishing here. Last week I was out exploring and they were searching peoples cars by the lake, I just left.

They just implemented a park ranger and a fee program at the local lake and now they may have to shut part of the lake down because of budget limitations... I'm like ummm dudes we have had this lake open for 80 years for free with no Ranger... put 1 and 1 together.

Ehh, 3lbs isn't that huge around here. I personally have landed up 8lbs bass and have seen 14lbs+ taken from here. Lots of tournaments go on here, every weekend there is something going on. Over 1000 miles of waterway in this system.

Hmm wheres the knife ? :D Makes me think of Florida.. that photo.. or Texas O_O

WTH kind of fish.. I don't know my fishies.. looked like a giant flounder at first, but not in deep water like that.. so hmmm snapper? lol

Never tried fluke. Out here its a lot of sand dabs, sole, and halibut. But any of the flat fish are excellent eating!

What did ya catch 'em on? Sardines? Or do they take artificial bait like halibut? I need to get my boat back out in the ocean, been a while. I love heading out on the edge of the Monterey Canyon in about 20-30 fathoms and nailing a bunch of sand dabs for lunch, then start the chum line for shark.

took it with sliced clams, pretty much everything was biting that day on the same bait. Striped Bass, Sea Bass, Ling Cod, Eels, Blackfish, it was a mixed bag. Tomorrow night will be for striped bass hopefully.

Ever have one of those nights where you just cant shut your brain off? I am wide awake...0200 hours...been filling up the sketch book, searching for parts for my new disc grinder (YAY!), the dog is snoring, the wife has taken over the whole bed, my Father in law who just moved in with us is snoring like he's in a contest, the bird keeps squawking randomly as well. I just cant sleep. Oh well, I got some really good ideas on paper tonight. Everything from a traditional Aikuchi, to an EDC, to a fin and feather (bird and trout). Refining the handle shapes for the bowie I am working on as well.

Anyone here have decent machining capabilities? I need a faceplate for my disc grinder, or just a hub and bolt a disc to it. It needs 3/4"-16tpi left hand threaded hub.

Daniel, since I'm talking about new tools, you get your new drill press set up yet?

fast- I just purchased a pesh-kabs... very similar to the Aikuchi... can't wait =_=

also just got in my accidental ebay win.. some USA made Palmgren disc/belt sander O_O look out world!

Oh yeah.. the Drill Press is up and running. It is big! 63 pounds. 250 rpm is sweet for metal!

Sorry Xander, no machining skills here unless you want it freehanded, lol!

Sloth... that sucks. I hope you feel better man.

I have to look up that grinder! Sounds cool.
