I forgot to post Good Morning men! I hope today is a much better day! Speaking of customs I have been to Quebec 3 times caribou hunting and always puckered going through customs and I was in law enforcement!!!!Even though we did nothing wrong it is just the thought they can tear your vehicle a part and you have nothing you can do about it!

Daniel I am glad it at least worked out some what! Thanks for the memories ....lol Pat Benatar was the hottest thing going when I grew up!!!! I remember when MTV was brand new.Holy shit I am old!!!Man dealing with car jackers in TX that is the great state of shoot them!!! Gang bangers I have dealt a lot with where I grew up and in working all the years in prison. You should see how fast they will renunciation there gang affiliation when I was sitting there telling them I was going to send them to a level 4 prison as a STG II (Security threat group). You have a lot of experiences Daniel,Glad you made it through them so we can enjoy your creativity!! So many of those situations could have ended badly!!!

That was awesome wasn't it! I love that stuff.

Gangs... just groups of people who know they can't handle anything on their own.

Yes Good Morning!

Today is already a nice day, the weather is incredible.

The shop feels air conditioned this time of year, it is hot here too but I have the mountain for shade and cool weather. I was in NM earlier this week and it was 97F.

...they say it's a dry heat, that's really true... 97 doesn't even feel that bad with no humidity

I just looked and I maybe had 3 drinks, I did forget to take my allergy medicine though! There are huge hay fields down my road at the opening of the valley.

I should get some photos, the scenery here is just perfect. At the end of my valley there are old farms with huge barns and then the river. My area was were they got lumber, my neighbor owns the old sawmill saw, huge blade on it!

Across the highway there are old kivas and even new ones, a few people still live in them.

My valley has a stage coach road running through it, it is still level as can be like a railroad. There are some old log buildings next to parts of it, cool stuff.

In the 70's there was a hippy commune back here, I look at it on the satellite sometimes as it is on private property... reminds me of that show Lost!

Cap'n Crunch and rum don't mix! I've been there, done that. Another bad one is high alcohol content beer and ice cream, never works out in the morning.

Time to get the little one dressed and off to play school.

lol true story!

Beer and ice cream, no go! I had some Guiness Ice Cream that was good, that's different though.

I guess I can understand a Guiness float, but I can tell you with absolute certainty that Rochefort 10 does not mix well with Pralines and Cream from Baskin Robbins. Why did they have to put the best pub in town right across the street from a 31 flavors?!

I've always found the best policy going through customs is:
1) Remember that you are a guest in someone else's home (country).
2) Be prepared.
3) Keep in mind that pushing your buttons is simply one tool in the toolbag to see what develops and how you handle it. They're smarter and better trained than you think. Keep your cool and always remember #1.

Great information, I agree.

Never hesitate when answering a question.

When you work with the public all day you can develop an eye for what's going on very quickly.

A guest! HAH, helping there economy.. AND trying to push people into a nervous state to make mistakes is something a bully does. Which is how they act, like bullies. Also, I'm better trained then they think in being a criminal :D

Like fast14riot was talking about knife laws, these customs "officers" were trying to tell me my knife was illegal because you could open it with one hand.. SHUT UP.

Add to this.. while waiting, a group of 5 or 6 men, all of Indian (not native, other Indian), were getting hassled. At one point the officer was going to hand back their I.D. and he looked at men, then the I.D. and said, here you guys figure out which I.D. is yours, you all look the same to us. <---- that pissed me off even more...

Yeah, trained to be an asshole. They are just hoping to get a rise out of people and then maybe make an arrest and make their day. Oh, I mean, to protect and serve.. pffft.

Yes, I do agree on one thing, be prepared for attitude. >;]

Too often they arrest and sort it out later, hoping they get something to stick and not look like a fool. Like I said before, know the laws, respect authority, but don't bow down before it. Whatever happened to innocent untill proven guilty?!

Taking a break from working on the choppers... just doing minor finishing to make everything as nice as possible, sharpening tantos next. :D

I'd like to comment more on some of this but would prefer to steer away from Politics. I know, I started it!

I talked to my wife Sara this morning, she finally got to Corpus at 10 this morning. Apparently Jade was great the whole trip!

I'm behind on mailing out knives and do apologize, they will be going out very soon.

Wow! I gotta say that my experience has been vastly different than either of yours. There are certainly cases where someone misuses their authority. However, I've seem many more cases of attitude in travelers than I have in those serving travelers. And way more cases than that where neither was a problem.

lol!

The only way to make a turtle better is to strap a large knife to its shell.

-Xander
