Good morning to youz. I should have a belt grinder of some kind in a week or so!!!!! I traded that starrett straight edge to my brother in law I don't have any info on the grinder I just figured I could use any kind of grinder more than a 3 foot long straight edge . yesterday was a good day for me.I did not have to work and my wife bought me a new knife . Any day you get a new knife is a goooooood day!!

Afternoon everyone.

FBC I hear ya! New knives are loads of fun :D

I'm trying to get my hands on a sears 2x42 since my old 4x36 seems to by on it's last legs. On a good note though, when the back idler wheel went out, I tried doing a chisel grind on the disk. I've gotta say, it's one of the nicer looking grinds I've done to date. A disk grinder has been added to my Stuff to Get list :o

Mornin y'all.

Good afternoon!

I had a 4x36 at first, I really liked it until I wore it out! Good luck on the 2x42, they look nice to me. Discs are great from what I hear, especially for cleanup grinding, they keep everything straight.

I have had all sorts of grinders especially if you count stone cutting and sculpture... if you get used to one that is what is important. I was pulling better grinds on my old 4x36 than I did for a while after i got my KMG, it took some time to get used to.

Afternoon men.Just getting back from my VA appointment.Sucks that it is an hour drive each way and I have to go see them every 2 weeks.

Afternoon men. Just got home from work. B O R I N G day today. Just dead slow.

I think a disc grinder is a very versatile tool, but its all I have other than a cheap 1x30. Other than some handle shaping I can do pretty much everything on it. I still need to make some small wheel type attachments for it like a horizontal spindle sander. I even grind my minis on it! If you make your own I have found that an 8 7/8" disc is good because it leaves 1/16" on either side of a 9" sheet of paper.

I had a good and bad day today, things sometimes don't work out...

lots of knives made but I finally got my new countersink bit in for the CC knives after a 6 week wait and $100, sure enough the shank is too big.

Hey Daniel, is there a machine shop close by? If so, they should be able to turn down the shank for you. Oh yeah...Morning everyone.

I was going to write you and ask, thanks! There are a few nearby, I'll have to call around.

Good morning!

Afternoon men.Xander how are your gun projects going? Have not heard you mention any of them in a while.Or have you been too busy with work to get any chance of working on them?My buddy that is a Green Beret over in Afghanistan just bought a custom rifle in 300 WSM.He just re upped for 3 more years so he got a nice signing bonus.

Afternoon-

Big, I have not been able to get anything done yet on th guns, but I was just talking with my dad today about our hunting plans this year. We got tags for two deer zones, bought two bear tags each, two bobcat tags each and am thinking about picking up a pig tag as well. So I'm gonna have to get goin on my 1917 if I want to shoot that one this year, otherwise its back to the 700BDL in .30-'06. Either way the BFR .460 is coming along and if the situation presents itself its gonna get used!

I need to get the barrel channel on the stock opened up just a touch more and pillar bed the action. Then its going to get bead blasted and blued. But I still have a little bit of metal work to do. Don't worry, I'll update when I make progress.

Daniel, just remember that Chuck Norris trims his nails with a belt grinder, and never cuts himself.

Cool, I think I seriously need to start a club... Fairly Knife Fans who own a Hinderer! I need to check one out, they are the hottest knife on the market bar none. The lines are just awesome and the price is right.

My folder designs are along the lines of that knife, I hadn't seen one until I designed mine either! I like the not too plain/not too tactical look they have, very cool.

have a great day!

I better remember that!

Cool on the flea market, I have yet to make it to the local one and need to go. Lots of fun! One guy sells Ivory with paperwork, lol you can find all sorts of stuff.

Here the flea market is about half jewelers (mostly native Americans) so back when we made/sold jewelry we did the flea market... heck every year up until now, even last year my wife did it while pregnant while I stayed home to grind.

I owned a craft fair here in Durango for a while even, we were the only venue in town with 100% locally made handmade goods.
