Well just got home from the flea market, found some goodies, a couple knives but I passed on them. I did find a Schick Injector razor, G8 model from 1955 or so for $5, got it soaking now. I also found some vintage mechanical pencil lead for my small collection, its .046" size in original tubes with good labels and all sticks are there, unbroken. I have a sterling silver ring top ladies pencil that uses this size, and i think a few others. Its hard to find that size or reasonable money! The wife got a dress, we also got a like new Calphalon 12" pan to go with our others for $20, it retails for almost $100! Also our usual allotment of breads and pastries.

Evening men.Xander I just read your post.Sounds like you have a hell of a good hunt planned.would be sweet if you can kill a couple of trophy's with that 460!!

Mornin gang. Still at work, on the home stretch now. I feel like a zombie... did I ever mention how much I hate inventory night? I should be outta here in the next half hour or so, then its straight to bed.

That is late for doing work! Inventory is always rough! I do inventory but it is very informal.... steel pile tall - check, box of scales - check, lots of belts... lol :D

Good morning guys!

sup dudes? just got off work. I don't have to work tomarrow. I'm hoping Xander has the day off too so we can play in the shop.My grinder is back from Pahrump NV. just have to go grab it from my wifes parents house! I would go get it tonight if it was not almost 10 pm.I need to see what kind of grinder it is so I can order some belts. I think I have the hook up from a neighbor on a drill press . I tried to talk that same neighbor into selling me his bridgeport but I don't think he is going for that . He did say he would think about it some time in the future.Wish me luck. Yes, Xander, you can use it any time you want, if I get it.Have a good night guys.

Well good mornin guys. Got sun burned pretty good yesterday on my back, spent most of the day working on a girlfriends car, replacing the thermostat and housing and some radiator hoses. Easy work, but its having to remove the battery, battery tray, plug wires, dstributor, air intake, and pcv line that makes it take so long.

Kevin, I work at noon, so if you manage to get up soon give me a call.

That is rough!. Lately I have been having big problems with the CA postal system, they are the reason I started insuring packages. The Bay area is the worst, over half my problems come from that area. I hope it comes in soon!!!! belt grinder?

Ouch! You are in, lol! That is always rough. I have ground mine down a bunch of times but never knocked off until now, avoid that! Fear the sander!

Good morning guys!

When I finally get around to buying my knifemaker membership, that is definitely going in my sig! :D

lol I'm telling you! :D The buffer is even worse, mine seems nice but it will turn on me when I least suspect it! It gets very little use especially on the blade part of a knife.

My thumb is still not 100%, I'm sticking to lighter work for another day or two.

I hope you are healing fast!

Morning.Awful quiet in here!

Good morning BigCountry!

It is quiet here, I know I have been too busy it seems!

Last month was a record for production, hopefully I can start turning a profit here soon! As much as I love my work it is a high stress situation trying to make it, especially with a child. I am so close! :D I don't like to talk finances but I'm sure you guys wonder sometimes.

I was reading Ken Onion's advice about making it as a knifemaker, he is a really smart guy and said to know your customer base... I hadn't really thought of it in the right way until now I think. I noticed all my knives that have not sold fast are slicers or lighter knives, I think people want thicker spines and edge geometry overall. Thick knives are my thing so look out for more, I love that stuff! It was an epiphany for me, lol I hope it works out! I'm sticking with tough, high end steels too, I know I can count on them. 1084 too! :)
