Apocolypse Now is probably my #1 favorite movie, I can watch it anytime it comes on!

FRUIT NINJA!

I've seen a lot of fat men destroy twinkies, but never quite like that! (at 1:03). The end when he's just throwing fruit at him is just great! I watched it again just so I can have a laugh at an unfortunately fat man destroying food, with some surprising accuracy! Poor horse, too.

Afternoon guys.

Just finished up installing a new water heater at my parents house. It was an unexpected christmas gift from my brother and I. My brother paid for it and I did the complete install and removal of the old one, recent quotes are north of $1000 for a water heater and install by a plumber this weekend. I also did all new fittings and valves from the supply line out, peace of mind reasoning.

Enjoying a bourbon-over with my dad now. Gonna head home in a litte bit and hopefully get some work done in the shop tonight. I have several blades I need to finish up, I've been itching to get them done.

Have a good one guys!

Good afternoon y'all .We have friends from out of state at the house for a few days . making a knife with a good friend for him to take home and use the hell out of. This one is blood thirsty already cut myself twice making the blade.well back to hanging with friends. Have a good weekend y'all.

Xander that is really cool! They are not too bad to install as long as everything goes well, lol! I replaced one at my old place that had literally rotted through the floor. My Dad blew his eyebrows off trying to light the pilot. :D lol it was eventful

FBC sounds good mang! I hear you on the cuts, sometime one just wants to get you! Good on hanging with friends too...

We had my inlaws come in last night and we are getting ready to leave in the morning. I just stopped working on knives and have a bunch almost ready that I will finish when I get back. It has just been frantic here trying to do everything...

I'll be missing you guys here in chat! I am not sure on the internet situation back home as it is a pay my the minute kind of thing... or something. lol I will find out soon! My parents just got fast internet so who knows.

Yeah, their water heater had been on its last leg this spring and they have been dreading the cost of replacement. They're not terribly difficult, you're right, but theirs is in the house in a cabinet, in the hallway. The cabinet has only 18 inches of room between the gas supply and the furnace for it to go, and the old heater was 17 inches wide! There is also a 4" threashold at the bottom to get it up and over without breaking, so it was a tight squeeze with hardly any room to work! Good thing is, it is more efficient and they should get a rebate from the gas company.

Needless to say, my parents both looked extremely relieved to have it taken care of. They have been hit hard financially this last year and a half with having two seperate credit card numbers stolen. Besides, its the least I can do for them. They did put up with my punk ass for too many years!

Enjoy your trip home, take lots of pictures of Jade under the tree and just forget about knives for a few days! Don't forget to drain your water pipes and put anti freeze in the water traps! Lots of food for the cat, too!

We will all be here when you get back! Have a fun trip dude.

Merry Christmas Fairlys

Cool stuff, Sam is just too much fun! Just wait until he is Zylers age and want to go see Uncle Kevin!

I picked up two more new axes at the flea market today, got one awesome score and got burned with a Chinese imposter. Oh well, the Chinese one did pass the file test and looks useable with good geometry. Both need handles, so that's 5 heads I have that need handles now. Kevin, I need to get over there and cut some pecan, it makes great firewood as well. I'll bring my 3.5lb felling axe and buck out a few rounds.

Hope your having a great time Daniel! Enjoy the warm weather before you have to head bck to the cold!

FBC now that is funny! :D awesome... you may be my long lost brother by the way!

Xander I hope they work out! With that many I would make a pair of axe-chucks... you know like nunchucks!

Man the weather is nice here, I really don't miss Colorado! I took a bunch of pics for later, all kinds of cool old handmade knives and stuff.

I've been walking all over the farm and there are pig tracks everywhere... mountain lion too but the pigs are everywhere. I'm taking my Mauser bayonet with me next time for protection! No gun, lol I already split my eyebrow to the bone being a bonehead with a scope. doh! it was a bb gun so I didn't expect it to kick

Ooo, axe chucks! I like it! Even better, I could put all 5 axe heads on chains and on the end of a staff!

You don't miss CO right now, but just remember those TX summers and you'll be scrambling to get back to your bunker on the hill! Let us know how that bayonet works against and angry sow, if you live to tell about it. Watch out for those BB guns, you'll shoot your eye out! :D spring guns are pretty tough on recoil, sometimes.

I sincerely hope there isn't another person as ugly as Kevin in this world! :p :D

Yeah it gets hot here, 2 summers ago I heard it was 100 degrees for a month straight. It is nice being home though.

lol Kevin!!! well I don't show my face in vids but that is mostly because of the Sasquatch thing!

Haha, I was there when it was over 100 for a month :barf:
I have folks down there and was visiting them at the time. They usually go to Maine or Oregon during the summer to get away from the heat

Hey Xander, how's that B&T knife going?

Y'all take care and have a Happy New Year!

Morning guys!

I remember as a kid having two week straight of 100+ here and usually several days in a row of 110+. Trying to play outside in 114 heat sucks. You burn your shins from the concrete just walking, asphalt turns to jello, you can't touch any playground equipment, and you sweat sitting still. Thank goodness it doesn't last more than just a couple weeks, and now it seems like just a few days in a row.

Its ok about the Sasquach thing, I believe they are close evolutionary cousins to kevin anyways...

Matt, I haven't had time (or motivation) to sit and had sand the B&T for heat treat yet. The wife and kid are home for a month with no work or school! Severly limits my shop time. I have several projects I'm trying to get ready for heat treat so I can just do them all at once. I am also struggling with finalizing the design, if I should taper the tang or not, file work, etc. I hope to get it done soon though!

I knew it was a mistake to post my face! haaha
Xander,I am off on thursday and sat. I want to check out your new toys anyway.
Daniel, I have a friend that moved to Texas. He said it is the best thing ever.
have a good one y'all

Cruise on over Thursday, I'm off as well. I have plenty of beer still, but its going down by the day! Maybe ifthe weather is nice I'll head over to your place and get some of that pecan wood.

I just checked up on a birch rounds I have left on the side of the house for 3.5 years now, its finally showing signs of good spalting! WooHoo! Hopefully I can force feed it this spring with the warmer weather and then split it and dry it to be sent off for stabilization. Should make somenice scales or a nice through tang for a puukko.

I have a small fixed blade whittler I just ground out and heat treated the other day I'm working on a handle for it now, should be a good little bench knife. I have the edge down to .007" now and I think that's as far as I'm going to take it before I sharpen it. I'll put some pictures up tonight or tomorrow.
