Fall Trackrock Hammerin?

If you are planning to attend. We are asking that if possible, make a quarter sized brass or nickel silver "Token" with makers mark or stamp on it for a gift that we will be presenting to the owners of the campground for appreciation of them graciously allowing us to hold our shindig at their facility. It would be nice if Carl could get the tokens ahead of time to affix to the gift . but if not just bring one with you please.

Hey guys, all of you intending to be there on Saturday and want to eat lunch with the rest of us, I need a head count (or mouth count). If you're bringing a spouse and/or other family members, or a friend(s)....we need to know how many and we need to know now so we can get the lunch organized and noone will have to do without. We will probably have to ask for donations to the cause if the crowd gets any bigger.

Put your "reservation" in now and you won't miss out. Please don't delay, the wives put alot of effort into this and they deserve a "heads-up".
Just think about it a minute........discontented wives, sharp, pointy, hot things close at hand........won't be pretty or healthy!!

Count me in Carl!!
I was doing my usual thing, lettin my screwed up mind try every way possible to talk me out of goin and then I read the last two pages of this thread.
I'm for sure bringing a couple chunks of damascus I picked up here and there and the best hammer I have. I was planning on welding a section of rebar to the damascus to use as a handle, that make sense?
Was hoping to have several knives made to show off but I hit the dumpers and will be surprised if I get this bowie I'm working on finished.
Either way, I'm gonna be there!
Got reservations for Wednesday through Sunday!
I think after the hammer in I might head over to that gem diggin place in North Carolina and see if I can find something. Always wanted to give that a try.

Hey Michael,

I'll be there Wed myself. Really looking forward to this. I'm usually in cabin #4. In the past we have put a clipboard up at the office for folks to sign in/out to let others know that they have arrived or whatever. You wont regret coming Michael :)

I wish I could afford a cabin. I got a feelin I'm gonna freeze my a** off up there in my car, lol!
It'll be an adventure anyway!
Got a matress and a sleepin bag and I'll bring a couple heavy blankets with me.
They have any horse shoe pitchin pits up there Mark?
I love pitchin but can't get anyone down here interested.

I might be having a vacant room in my cabin Michael. My wife is looking at gainful employment and may not be able to make the trip. If she doesnt make it, the cabins have three beds and a comfy couch.

I'm not sure about horseshoes Michael but I'm sure they would set one up if we asked knowing how accomidating the alexander family has been for us.

Sorry to hear the Misses might not be coming with you Mark!!
Thanks for the offer of the extra bed or couch, both sound very comfortable!!
Oh man, it would be grand to get to pitch some shoes with you guys!!!
I think I'll buy a set and bring em up in case they don't have a pit. Be happy to leave em behind so others can enjoy them.
I'm gonna check out the stables while I'm there also.
Probably won't go for a ride but will definitely have some carrots for the horses if the owners don't mind.
Hey, is anyone bringing their dog??
If I had a four legger I'd love to bring em with me on a trip like this!

Carl, I'll be one there on saturday. I hope to get in around noon or 1ish friday. Are you folks going to be off visiting somewhere or will people be there?

WS

I would imagine we'll be in the barn Friday Wayne. If we go anywhere we'll be sure to leave word with somebody. Thanks for getting your token to Carl. That makes the three of us.

It looks like I'll be without my sweetie so if anybody hears some howling late at night, Dont be scared. :)

Michael,
Seen a few four leggers about the place but suggest you call the Camp office and make sure it's ok. Lots of deer up there so if he's a runner or a hunter he's gonna have a hard time behaving. Look forward to meeting you. I won't be up til thursday midday, but Marks' on the money. He comes up with agendas and I screw them up. In the meanwhile we have a great time. You won't be that cold until you start digging in them gem pits full of water.
Pretty sure they got pits and shoes down by the office pavillion. Ask when you check on the dog issue, may save you some trouble.

Wayne,
What Mark said. Bring an extra box of ceral incase it gets cold.

I'll be in Cabin #3, but only when I'm sleeping.

I can't wait to get there Crex!!!
Already got my map and driving directions printed up. It's not as far as I thought it was, just 465 miles. I'm gonna get off my lazy butt and get this bowie finished too.
I'm hoping meeting all you buggers and getting my first taste of forging steel and having some sit down time with Kit will kick me back into gear and get me making knives again!

I'll be there Thursday night late - 3 of us - confirmed.

Thanks for putting this on!

Ever since hearing about it "after the fact" last year....I've been wanting to go. Maybe I'll talk crex into showing me how to make a Toad Sticker....:D

L6 - You'll be so pumped you won't even be able to sleep on the drive home (I hope)! But your hammer arm may be a little dead.

Daniel - we'll keep the light on for ya! I know it's a long drive for you guys so be careful. My wife is from Eldarado, KS and her brother lives in Bentonville, ARK. I've made the trip many times. Safe trip. We'll probably be up when you get there if you want to look for activity at either cabin 3 or 4 (or the barn).

Rest of you guys that are coming better sing out if you want to eat with us Saturday. Would very much like to know by this weekend so we can plan this out. Thanks.

Carl,

If I can trade on my on call from work I will be up there.
I will let you know in a couple of days. If I am able to go, I will be glad to help any way I can.

Gus

Thansk, crex. Do I need to make a reservation in advance? pay in advance too?

If the bribe doesn't work Gus, try threatening them. How many thousand knife nuts do you know?? :D
Mark, are there going to be enough grinders available?
I can bring mine if you think we can use it.
Think I'm gonna bring my disc sander too so folks can see how I rigged up the changable discs. It sure is handy.
Michael

Hey Gus who do you need pressure put on? I'm close enough I can do a little leaning and I know some very "creative" individuals down in Lil 5 Pints and Butthead. (You read the papers don't you?)

Dan - other than reservations for R & B, you only need to show up. I've got you down for lunch already.

MIchael - love to see your disc set up if you got the room.
