Favorite Brand?

No matter what other brands I have tried, CRK included, I always come back to Spyderco.

I will have to say Spyderco. I have more of them and enjoy them the most overall. They might not always be "the best" knife in my collection but they are the most functional and usable knives I own. They might not win the beauty pageant but they get it done. Simple as that.

I would have to say Spyderco as well. They have many different variations of their knives so it would be hard not finding exactly what you want/need in the Spyderco line-up. Many different steels, many different lock options, many different colors etc.

If you could only choose one brand of knife for the rest of your life, what would it be? Why? What's your favorite knife from that brand?

Mine would be Benchmade because of the vast selection of knives that serve different purposes and the outstanding customer support. My favorite knife from Benchmade 3550 with serrated black blade.

My giant hand forged custom Bowie out of Nepal (no brand) that thing is just undestructible heavy freaking tank....

I'm not really into folding knives all that much. Particularly compared to most here. My volume of knife usage is in the kitchen, and out camping. My EDC needs are quite simple, and basically any folder will do.

If I had to have one knife brand for life, it would have to be one that did way more than just folders. As such, I'd probably be looking at Kabar/Ontario (they make kitchen knives, folding knives, and "outdoor" fixed blades), Opinel/Victorinox (both make folders and kitchen knives, but not many "outdoor" fixed blades), and maybe svord (folders and outdoor fixed blades, but less of a kitchen lineup).

KAI would be a good option if I was more into folders, but I'm not a huge fan of most of their fixed blades. But keeping a Shun around would be a good replacement for my Tojrio DP's in this "one brand for life" scenario.

hey I have the same Spyderco native PE USA EArth as yours znapchatz. Used to carry everyday, then the pocket clip fell off and vanished. I have not had an easy time finding a replacement for it though.

I've entertained this notion and I would choose Spyderco by far. So much variety in price, design, and performance. They make something for everyone IMO. However, I could never limit myself to just 1 brand, what madness haha!

CRK and Strider, haven't used anything else in a long time....

After using a lot of different knives for a very long time, 21's/SMF's/SnG's are what I find perfect.

Another vote for Spyderco, just great value and variety. Probably why my collection is dominated by Spydies. Benchmade would come in second.

Benchmade by a long shot.
Lots of reasons but: made in USA, blade replacement option, awesome customer service, Axis lock, sick fixed blades come to mind first. Next would be Victorinox because Swiss Army Knives RUUUULE!:thumbup:

Busse, for me. Between them and Leatherman, I can't imagine anything else I'd need!

Folders would be Spyderco, I suppose.

I thought I would post my first-ever note on Blades Forum here. I been reading various posts for a couple of months now, and a friend on another forum encouraged me to join BF because of all the help and expertise here. So this week I registered. l'll continue to mostly read "behind-the-scenes," because I'm very new to knives. I've owned only 3 knives from elementary school days through my current grown-up (elder) days.;) This year I've been introduced to knives through the same forum friend. Also acquired a new knife a couple of years ago, and 4 new knives this year. So this total of 8 knives is my entire collection!! I expect it to get larger in the days ahead.

My comment about a favorite knife is quite easy. As an EDC, I've had a Victorinox:D as a pocket companion for almost 33 years now --- same knife, no problems, wonderful two blades and multi-tools. I cannot count how many things I've used it for. And it was a great travel blade in my younger years when I spent time doing international travel and study abroad sessions for university degrees. It is a seasoned traveler!

Looking forward to many future visits and learning days on this Forum.
Have a great day!

P.S. I liked Jazub's comment on SA knives....cool!

If I had to choose one knife company for the rest of my life, I would choose Strider.

Oh wow, this is tough. I'm a big fan of Case, Buck, Spyderco, Opinel, and Victorinox. If forced to choose, I would have to pick Victorinox, with Case as a close second. Vics are just so handy and capable of so much!

Benchmade comes in a close second for me. I chose Spyderco because of the things you get for your money compared to Benchmade. Benchmade has awesome knives but most of their folders are priced pretty high for what you get.

OHHHKAAAAY, here goes this. Cold Steel! (gulp) I own many knives from many makers and most of those mentioned are obviously winners, BUT if I could only buy from one for the rest of my life, fixed blades, folders, machetes etc. it would have to be Cold Steel for sheer variety AND (contrary to many opinions but based on many years experience with over 30 of them) usefulness. I would miss many of the others, but the OP said ONE. I will now duck and cover.

Spyderco. They offer such a great variety of steels, locks, designs, blade shapes, etc... that I would never feel as if my collection was lacking.
Also, Spyderco designs consistently have some of the best ergos on the market.
