They're joking about the fact that everywhere you go, sports events, music et all, you always find a guy with a Breton flag (that black & white ermine & stripes banner), even if there's no link with Brittany (and the less the better).
Every year there' a music contest and tv show, called Eurovision, quite kitsch. Except Abba and Céline Dion (who represented... Switzerland) no real Hitmaker ever!
Now it is more publicity/propaganda, winners usually come from Far-Far-Away with highly calibrated singers you never hear about after. The winner is elected by, btw, who elects them??? Noone watches the program and we would consider as a great disgrace to win!
The Fatals Picards were choosen for the 2007 contest, they had absolutely no chance to win (22nd /24, dead heat with the British group). :)
Hey! beware, I see Australia is a full member now! o_O

Merci Mon Brave. Thank you for the translation.
I know little of geography but I do know that the Continent of Australia is somewhat larger than Europe and also too far south to be considered part of it.
However ....the contest of Eurovision has reached a new peak of political correctness or as I more accurately describe it "lack of sanity behind any reasonable excuse".
This may explain why the Aussies entered the competition.
Over the years it has gone from bad to worse....songs with titles like " Bing Bang a Bong " are replaced by desperate attempts to amaze the judges such as the bearded lady Conchita who frankly belongs in a freak show in the middle ages.
On the upside...there are always the hilarious attempts at rock and pop by nations that emerged from the behind the Iron curtain and perform like musical Frankensteins.....cobbled together from out of date western styles in a vain attempt to create a life of their own.
Let's face it ...if you want the world to take your music seriously you need coke fuelled entrepreneurs not government department officials to run the thing.

Cool mugs, Kevin. :):thumbsup: I'm currently vacationing in Michigan's UP, and I don't have my favorite mug with me, but my wife brought one of her favorites along, so I took a shot of hers with my Rough Rider marlin spike:
