Fiddleback User Pics

Inspired by our own Mistwalker, I wanted to take some pictures of the knife in hand against a natural backdrop. Here, the edge is highlighted in front of an American beautyberry (Callicarpa americana) bush.

The spalting on this patch is remarkable.

The grain of tarara is distinct from osage. There are less rays, but more web-like patterning, very much like ziricote. On this piece, there are notable shifts in color from yellow to red.

I have become quite fond of it.

Always glad to hear I inspired someone to get out and about and explore nature. Beautiful knife, I like that handle a lot, AND I finally learned what a plant was I had found a couple of years back. Thanks for that! :)

A couple of knives that have finally caught up with me. If you don't look closely they seem like a pair but the Kephart is bolstered Giraffe Bone wist the BCK is bolstered dyed curly oak. Love 'em both!

I would have to send this one to Scotcha or Mistwalker to have pics do it justice. The fit and finish is absolutely perfect but what would you expect from a Knife Guild knife. Just look at that taper!

Old school Ladyfinger and old school Woodsman. Interesting to see the evolution of the handle shape on the Woodsman and how they started with a similar profile.

Thanks Jules! I can't believe I was able to land it. My Ladyfinger has been my favorite so far and I really want an Old School version and yours is sweet. What wood is that?

The old school Ladyfinger is a really useful profile (I love the standard model too), mine is in Ironwood - the photo is bit dark so the grain doesn't show too well.

Man that taper....

It's added to the list. I'm scared to post any more pictures...

Phillip beat me to it. So while you're putting that stunning Woodsman with his BCK, just throw that Ladyfinger in with my batch.

You'd better stop posting pics.

I'm under siege...wish someone liked the knives I'm actually trying to sell in the Fleamarket!

Just put all your knives on the Flea Market Jules and keep what's leftover after the shark frenzy.

Just kidding man. You have some great blades in your collection including the Old School Woodsman & Ladyfinger shown above.

Thanks for sharing the photos.

:D Cheers Phil, a compliment coming from someone with a collection as cool as yours! Think i can hold off on the bulk sell until the wife demands aircon, a sofa and brick walls (natural ventilation and a hammock are sufficient in my opinion)!

Finally got to put my F2 to use on something it was designed for! We spent the morning in the mountains looking for dusky grouse.

Kephart on fire prep duty. Flame took after the first strike of the ferro rod, something that doesn't happen often for me.
