Fighter Step by Step

That interior mammoth is an attractive and interesting shade. Much warmer than I thought it would be.

I too would like to thank you for the time that you spent on this thread.

And the very beautiful knife.

Keith, you're a lucky man. :) A smart one too.

Yeah, everything worked out incredibly well.

This was originally going to me and then to Paul. I suggested a reroute and delay. So glad we did!

I'm glad we did it that way too.

i had to say something about this build. as this is my first post i have to say this knife and sheath is one of the best ones i have ever seen. hats off to someone with great skill..

Hard not to fall in love with this package. Great work by all, and really enjoyed the thread. Superb!

I respect your opinion, but I couldn't agree with you less. I think they go together superbly. However, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

A question.
Is the racasso/blade narrower than the handle or is it just the photo or angle making it appear that way?

I give up. After reading this amazing WIP, and comparing it to my own work, I have decided to sell all my tools and materials and go find a job flipping burgers or something.

Just kidding! Mr. Vestal, I thank you very much for the inspiration and all the tips I've learned from this one thread. My hat is off to you.

Keith, I'd be willing to bet you have to be one of the happiest guys on the forum. :)

This turned out spectacular, Charles, big thank you for letting us have a look at how you do what you do.
Paul, as always, you outdo yourself with each and every sheath. Joe was right.
Coop, you bring it all together so wonderfully, the reroute was a great idea.
Stellar image.

Kind of makes it look like a Wilderness style handle accompanying a Dixon Fighter style blade. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

This knife is a stretched out Wilderness. The blade is a little over 1 1/4" wide at the guard and there's a step of around 0.1" behind the guard.

The pattern I use for the Dixon Fighter is 1 1/8" wide at the guard and also has a step behind the guard.

Take care

Charles
