Boy, I feel like a twit. I just realized I didn't vote yet. I'm in for either pattern. I only have one Barlow, and no Swaybacks, so either would be fine with me. The fact that it's a "club knife", as stated earlier, is what makes it special. Any handle material is okay with me, but either of these in a CASE/CV-Yellow-handled style would make me happy.

Hey Kerry, how 'bout making up about 60 of those barlow swaybacks for us? :p

Yeah! It'll be easy! You could get a bunch of girls to help you do it! :D

thx - cpr

I just got a fantastic idea.

Can we expect them 'round October or thereabouts. :D.
Great Idea, when can send our 100 bucks?
Jim

I haven't voted or posted anything about the new forum knife selection but, it occurs to me a swayback barlow would be a pretty cool knife. :D
Sounds good to me. Maybe something like this swayback jack/barlow hybrid. Keep in mind this is my Photoshop hack job of a Case Chestnut Swayback. :D

Here's the original Case Swayback.

You need to copyright that design, that is sweet.
Now, if we can just get Kerry to do them.:D

Can a Barlow be done with 2 equal length blades instead of a short one & reg. one? Or does that not make it a Barlow then?

Maybe those "ghost" votes could be eliminated from the poll.

Actually I was merely making a joke...though ya'll had a sense of humor in here...lol. Even tho most don't post often they have been members for awhile for the most part. With my references to Chicago voting I didn't think anyone would take it serious....oh well...

It would still be a Barlow, IMO.

My vote's on the swayback. Is there going to be a blade steel option, or has that already been addressed?

CL01, Here's a IXL Barlow with spey and clip blade, it's about 60 yrs. old it used to be called a Barlow. I'm afraid to name any thing these days, but anyway this is what it looks like with 2 full blades. Maybe some will get a different prospective on the other knife in the vote.....

Just as a reference, a Don Morrow Barlow with a Warncliffe blade.
(do you capitalize Barlow and Warncliffe?)

I voted Swayback but I'd be happy with that blade configuration. Very nice!

Man! That is SWEEEEET! (and a darned good PS job too!)

You need to copyright that design

Don't tell 'im that! I'll never get to make one... :D

That IXL is Fabulous! And honestly, what I am hoping for with this knife, as per Charlies' idea before, and the fact I've wanted a 2-large blade barlow for a while... hard to find these days.

Rob I think it's proper to capitalize Mr. Barlow and Mr. Warncliff as being proper names. Such a question as you asked is also a proper one as to draw attention to Barlow and Shorty Warncliff. Sorry for the thread drift.......:)

I have to give Blues credit for that blade configuration. I just asked Don to make me one like the one he made for Blues.

That I*XL is exactly what I was thinking of! Very rare, and a wonderful, useful tool.
It's especially well made, from what I see. The flat beveled bolsters, with that crisp signature stamp make it a deluxe knife!
Man, I hope enough people see the beauty of owning something like that!!
You'll be the only kid on your block with one!!:D

For what it's worth, here's another rare "Barlow Trapper"...Taylor Eye Witness

Worth a lot, IMO!! Nice curved Barlow!!

I have placed a order with a custom maker for one of the what I call trapper Pattern Barlow's. Ordered with 3 1/2" closed length.CM 154 Razor blade, pen blade, 1 step bolster and Ebony scale covers.. Sure hope I get it. A real neat little knife, IMHO and hope I'm first out of the gate with one....
