Well, most of them DO look very fit it's true!
Depends of course HOW the stamping is done. I'm also wondering IF a Daddy Barlow might suit the forum's desire for a big one...?

I am so glad the Barlow is winning. Not to happy to hear of a grandaddy though, I like 'em a little on the small side (the knife that is:)), besides Jackknife said that our knives tend to get smaller as we get older not the other way around.

Awesome collection of Barlows you got there Charlie, I hope to get a couple like those someday.

Eek!!
In a race this close, we should only vote after we put down a deposit!

There's some food for thought in this statement. I wouldn't be against it.

I don't understand this. Wouldn't this be asking people to commit regardless of pattern?

EDIT: After re-reading the thread, I see Blues already addressed this issue in post #20.

mmmmm......this is a rather droll and tongue-in-cheek statement I am about to make and I don't want to make people upset but...

there are people voting for the swayback who have zero posts on the entire forum, not ever a single post in the entire site

Are they from Chicago by chance? :D ;) Vote early-vote often!

RECOUNT!

rotflmao.....

and if those people had voted for the barlow would you be mentioning it? :D

As a matter of fact, a quick check of the Barlow votes shows at least one voter with 0 posts. (FWIW, I voted for the Barlow, but I'm in for either one).

So, if the overall vote is within 2%, is there a recount & what about those hanging chads?

Maybe post #20 should be referenced in the title somehow as required reading? I also missed it until marrowj__98 pointed it out, and everyone should probably read it. This close race could get people a little worked up over what should be a great experience for all of us.

Also a final price under $100 makes this even more exiting for me. This is the first forum knife I have been involved in and I kind of assumed it would cost a little more.

People tend to get worked up regardless of the outcome.....sign of passion about the hobby, I guess.

People have their favorites......I never got involved with the BladeForums Traditionals until last year, because not only did I dislike the patterns chosen, I simply wouldn't own one of them....ESPECIALLY a Canoe.

IF the Folksies deign to be so severely misguided this year as to choose a Swayback Jack:D....I'll do my very best to get the very best one that we can; company, materials, delivery date, price......and Gus and I will make it happen.....but if it is not a size or materials I agree with...I'm not in for the knife...with no hard feelings and nothing more mentioned about it.

Not gonna bellyache about it....but there are some who will....one of the big differences between Traditional and Custom sub-Forums is the beat down you get for not going along with the herd...the fellas here are much more accommodating.

I haven't voted or posted anything about the new forum knife selection but, it occurs to me a swayback barlow would be a pretty cool knife. :D

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: :D.

Leave it to Kerry to lighten things up.

There is no way everyone is going to get their way. This is a "club" knife after all.

Some people want either as long as it is big.
Some people want one or the other specifically as long as it is big.
Some people want either as long as it is small.
Some people want one or the other specifically as long as it is small.

We have some things to consider. No factories that I know of are producing large swaybacks and I doubt anyone is going to tool up to do so for a run of 60 knives or so.

Only once company that I am aware of produces swaybacks at all. :D.

Let's just relax and have fun with this.

I just got a fantastic idea.

Hey Kerry, how 'bout making up about 60 of those barlow swaybacks for us? :p

Can we expect them 'round October or thereabouts. :D.

Don't we run the risk of treading into bareheaded, 2-blade Congress territory with a bold move like that? ;)

We'll take 'em in hand jigged Remington Bone with O1 blades, please....under $100.00, right?

:D
