:D  great knife design!

G'day Brian

Congratulations on having your design skills recognised by a manufacturer :thumbup:

Any more designs in the pipe line?

Kind regards
Mick

Hi Mick, thank you!

I do have a few I am working on but it's too early to go into that just yet.

That's an excellent idea. I like it much better than hidden tang. I suppose a person could order extra ones or, perhaps, different ones, say, like Micarta? Kind of like KaBar is doing with Becker.

Doc

Thanks Doc, I like it better too.

I'd say any future accessories will depend on the popularity of the design.

uh....what were you shaving?

Lol, virgin hair from the outside of my left forearm....at the wrist bone, and it was interesting to do. The rest is too short to do anything with right now :)

:D  great knife design!

Thanks man, I'm glad you like the design.

Congratulations!
I believe this knife will save many good people's lives.

Thanks Fujita, I hope it serves as well as I intended.

Thats a lot better looking than the Schrade Extreme Survival BT01. I have that one because of the saw back, which doesnt work.

Hey Brain,

A while back you did a review of the Schrade SCHF2 (I think). While I know this is your design, how do the two compare, usage wise? You seem to really like the SCHF2.

Cheers!

I've had several with saws and I've only seen a few saw-spined knives that did have saws that worked.

Well, I haven't done enough with this knife to do a comparison to much of anything yet....however here we are really talking about comparing an apple to an orange.

Yes, the SCHF2 did indeed impress me, but that is largely due to the fact that it is a solidly built hollow handled handled knife that I can beat on without breaking immediately, and that I can throw in the water and leave for an hour or so and the contents stay dry. But, I was also impressed by how sharp it came and how well it held it's edge too though. I do like how sharp this one is out of the box. I also think because of the difference in over all geometry this one will be a better chopper. But I still have to get it out to find out.

Just a couple more pics. I took it out to the woods to play with it for a while today for a review I've been asked to do elsewhere. Before I left I learned that the pouch will hold a multi-tool and firesteel.

Wow! Congrats! Looks like this lil beasty can chop too, with that nice recurve  Maybe this will be a replacement for that Becker Brute I always wanted....:)

Looking forward to you future projects :)

Thanks Russell, I don't think it's as big as a Brute, but it does chop pretty good.

Congrats mistwalker! I like that this knife has a nice thin edge, so it can actually cut. Looks like a pretty sweet survival knife!

Yeah, I just saw some of your full in-hand shots in the other thread . Dig your crest on the design mark by the way :D

I hope you post pics if you do mod the handle yourself, I'd be interested in a one-groove only version too probably.

Congratulations Mistwalker. Very nice design. Goin' on my list to Santa (or the Chanukka fairy in my case).

Thanks, I like the way that turned out too. When I get a chance to do it I'll post pics. I don't think I will completely remove it because I like how it works in a rearward three finger grip when chopping, I'll just "tone it down a bit".

Thanks man, I'm really glad you like it.

MW - I've always liked that design of yours, good on you for getting it manufactured...

Nice looking blade, MW, I'm sure that it will have takers!

I'll keep my internet eyes open for the review.

Just wanted to say that after a good bit of use with it yesterday and today in a three-finger rearward grip doing some chopping that I personally do not regret the second finger groove at all but I am going to "tone it down" just a little bit (make it less pointy).
