**** FINALLY SHIPPING THEM - 2009 Forum Knives update

I received mine in the mail today as well. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Great quality, the best I've seen out of the few Queen and S&M knives that I have. And that stag is sure pretty too.

Many many thanks to STeven, Gus and the stag donor.

Took a bunch of photos, went photo crazy actually, and made them clickable thumbnails because I left them rather large. That's my great-grandfather's copy of the Constitution there in one of them. I thought that was pretty folksy! :D

OK where was I at and how can I get one of these beautiful knives?? Can one buy them from online sources or was this something made available to us bladeforum people?

please send me a pm or email nativecajun57 at comcast.net

I don't think you were a member here yet when these were ordered. It won't be available from online sources in this exact configuration but I do remember someone posting that Queen likes it so much that they are considering putting it into their regular lineup.

Keep an eye out in the traditional forum for the 2010 BFC knife sign up; it is going to be a Moose in ebony.

Hi Daniel,

Each year we choose the hard way (by committee ;)) a Traditional Forum Knife. We basically pick the pattern, handle material and some other odds and ends. Then some of the more foolish of us, contact knife companies, get a price, and collect after forum members have had a chance to decide if they are going to buy one or not. Then we wait (and in one case wait a little longer;)) until they are made.

These knives are the 2009 knifes that are going to the folks who ordered last year.

Keep an eye out at the top of the forums to sign up for next year's knife.

Mine showed up today. Thanks Bastid. If anyone is awake at Queen they'd put this Barlow into production. Great knife it wwent right into my pocket. Can't wait to use that big warny blade on something.

They did put it into production, in a slight variation!

Got my BF knife yesterday. It's truly a thing of beauty.

A big thanks to all who made this knife possible it turned out great and was worth the wait.

I'll add some "crappy :o" pics later.

Just got my hands on mine. Wow it's so shiny! What a beauty. Thanks Gus, Steve, and stag donor! You all rule!

Hats off to queen, the F&F is great. Great walk and talk. That bolster stamp is so neato. Thanks again stag donor, it's really pretty stuff.

I guess I am mistaken. Do you know where to find a pic, Neeman?

From AG's site. Not quite the same animal.

That's the wharnie blade they sent in the second prototype(the first prototype was a single spear blade with the stag on it, and aluminum bolsters), and I FREAKED out, and informed the head of production at Queen what the knife we contracted for was, line item, by line item, in late September.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I can see how this was most likely a pivotal moment in the success of this venture. I am glad it went the way it did. I also never thanked Mr. Anon Amos. Thank you Mr. Amos for donating the stag!!!!!!!:D

I gotta tell ya guys, other than the sharpness or lack of, (which is fine as I prefer to put my own edge on any EDC in my collection) this is the classiest, most impressive, IMHO the best Traditional Forums knife yet.

I've been so busy usin'/carryin' the Barlow I haven't even taken a pic fresh from the box, I'll have to clean it up and take a pic to post here.

I like this sucker so much I've had to move last years knife, (my previous favorite) to my LFP to make room in my Right Front Pocket.

Again Gus, Steven, ASD, (Anonymous Stag Donor) Thank You for a fantastic knife for '09and to those who missed out :p:D.

Gus,

I recieved a second knife in a box with a smelly pink sock, and small bag of Purina goat feed. I do not mind really, and hey! a free knife, woohoo! What is odd is that I found the matching pink sock behind the dryer! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.... Just a little Monday humor. I had to work this weekend, and I think I am still a tad bitter about it. my dad, brother and brother in law, all love the BF knife. I gotta spread the good news, no matter how funny they look at me.
