First knife suggestion

If "anything is legal" what's the difference? Are the police going to frown at a 3" push dagger and smile at a 7" bayonet? If the police had their way no one would carry anything, anywhere, at any time. Until that day, legal is legal as far as I'm concerned. YMMV.
Te diference is the intent. It may be legal, but it will suck in court.Dont judge by US standards. If he defend his life with a Delica,he can say he had it on his person to peel an orange or cut a box.He is the good guy.A push dagger or a bayonet will make him look like a pitbull off the lesh, looking for a chance to use them.Besides, what can a push dagger do that a Delica cant?

C'mon guys I just told that i perceived it as more intimidating probably because i connected him with the the one that I saw in Rambo as a child (child memories are stronger emotionally). And then I've asked if you also would perceive a knife like that (with the saw) as more intimidating, without receiving an answer. But if you want to keep joking about that you can continue also for other 10 years for what I care.

Aaaaaanyways, I think I'll get that Sabre gel and I will consider doing some martial art course but I'm not really convinced that you can learn the mindset of a fight, i mean, i was taller 10-20cm than that short muslim guy but still I was scared of getting to a fight with him, while many times even 2m tall guys don't intimidate me.

However I still think I will buy a knife (i never said something gigantic), I think a conceivable fixed blade or a wave one.

I've seen all the knives you suggested me and now I'll continue looking myself and post here what I'll considering buying, so you can tell me if it's good or not.

Thanks everybody

If you're scared of a fight without weapons you'll really be scared of fight with weapons.

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but if I want to fight and a see you're scared even if you had a gun because I'm betting you're scared and untrained enough not to use it.

I don't want to carry a gun, a knife should be less lethal and maybe enough for just scaring somebody to not fight me, but a gun it's really too much for me

This is not going to be the answer you want.
I've been reading your posts If you think a knife might intimidate an attacker you're going to get hurt.
Get some Pepper spray use it, then put distance between you and the situation.
Then for enjoyment, get what ever legal knife will handle the cutting jobs you come across.

Glo15,i assure you violence is a learned skill. Why do you think you was scared of a smaller guy,and he was ready to fight you?Because he learned to be violent and aggressive from his diapers, and you, like the rest of the civilized people were taught never to resort to violence.
Go to a boxing gym, learn to hit and more importanly to take a hit,and you mind set will change for the better with every bruise you on your body.
One more thing:take only as a sugestion anything any of us say.Buy a knife who makes you happy, carry it,enjoy it,make it part of you like your watch or phone. Its a wonderfull addiction to learn and ''hunt''for your dream knife.

Of course the difference is intent. He won't look like a "pitbull off the leash" (this is pretty unfair to pitbulls, btw) unless he acts like one. Bottom line is, no matter what you use you will still face the same burden of proving that using it the way you did was lawful. Delica, dagger, machete, axe, scissors, gun, nail clippers, stick, bare hands, no difference.

The OP asked a specific question, and I did my best to offer a specific answer. If you disagree, that's fine with me. Oh, and what can a fixed blade, no lock, double edged, fine point, strong gripped, fast deployed, easy to use push knife do that a delica can't? I can't imagine, all I can say is if I REALLY had to defend my life with one or the other, I know which one I would pick. Here's to hoping and praying that will never come to the test.

Of course i disagree, and this is a great think about a forum. We both answered the OP in good faith, offering what we thought is the best advice to his question. Its up to him to think, and make a decision for himself.By the way,the Delica wasnt a random choice, since it was the go to blade of one of the most respected knife figting experts.
On one point i agree, though:lets hope that any flesh he will have to cut is already on a plate.

"lets hope that any flesh he will have to cut is already on a plate"
Ahah omg guys... well, i can understand that, because you don't know me well but i'm very open minded and i REALLY considered everything that has been written here. Therefore i don't think i would buy a knife anymore. I will buy a tactical pen, i think it's the best compromise for the moment (i'm also checking kubotans and similiar stuff). Then, in the future, we will see about that knife. I'll also consider to get some martial art training etc. I wanted to just share my final thoughts, have a nice day!

There are other charges that can be brought against a person carrying a large knife, especially in public places. Then you spend all your money in court fighting what you consider to be a biased charge. It's just not worth it to prove a point.

If I were looking for a "weapon" or useful device other than a knife to be used in public, it would without a doubt be a cane. You can carry them in airports, into planes, and so forth.

To the OP, you said that you were scared. Keep in mind that many times your opponent is scared too. If he is not, it's because he has trained himself not to be scared, he's on something, or he does not consider you a threat. To him, you're an easy mark.

Your best defense starts long before you ever make contact with your opponent. Making smart choices as to where you go, what you do and who you keep for friends, all play a role in your defense. So do the clothes you wear, how you walk, where you walk, and when you choose to cross a street. Even when, where and how you speak to strangers can play a huge role.

Remember, a sharp mind and keeping your wits about you will play a bigger role in your defense than a knife ever will.
