I have plans of pimping them already:triumphant:
Please elaborate. Inquiring minds want to know!![]()
I might take the wave off, depending whether i like it or not![]()
I plan on buying a couple and trying different things.
A) Acid stone wash the blade and stainless lock side.
B) Polish the flats of the blade so the bevels are the only spots acid stone washed.
c) removed the wave feature and bring the spine back to the third jimping divot.
D) polish washers (only if they are phosphor bronze)
E) custom made titanium thumb disk (made by me)
There's more but Ill save that for later![]()
Word! Gotta love mod jobs.
Heck yeah, you just shut me up haha!
I think it is because of the price difference . I think Boker uses their 440c on the Boker Plus line that has a average price of 75-80 .Boker shows their Magnum line as using 440 stainless,so I am going to guess it is 440 a. Now, I could be completely wrong. It would not be the first time or the last......Unless I am wrong about being wrongI'm just curious why everybody beats the piss out of Boker for using 440C on their value knives but I rarely hear anyone complain about KAI using alphabet steel on everything.

Yeah their 440C is solid, holds an edge well but doesn't get very sharp in my experience.
There are Kershaw's in the $50-$100 range that use 8cr and the ones that don't use 14c28n, which I would put in the same entry level category as 440C.
Dimension, but that's got titanium scales and a button lock.Which Kershaws are in that specified range using 8cr13MOV?
Kershaw seems to have gotten the price right on these, which will be crucial to their success.
Boy could these have been awesome if they were USA made with Sandvik steel.
