Went out Saturday night and got this girl

First time I’ve caught a fawn feeding on a cam. Also, I can’t believe deer season is less than 3 months away!

My aunt and uncle came into town for a family members funeral so we tried to make the best of it. He’s a big time hunter and I took him out thermal hunting last night. About 45 minutes into the hunt we spot a coyote and he dropped it 150yds out one shot.

Me, my wife and our kids are out in California right now visiting my dad. He has some property and while my wife was taking our daughter on a 4 wheeler ride she saw a rattlesnake in a hole. Shot it with a .22 mag then used my DEK 1 to cut the rattler off.

Don't see too many red spotted brown trouts in this land! Nice one! As a prepubescent, I caught many of this version while fishing with my Dad but that was another lifetime in another continent. The Interwebs informs that this variant may have been brought over to America from Germany.

Caught three all about the same size and all that vibrant. Also saw a pair of woodies, a blue heron and a garter snake. A most excellent day in the woods.

A buddy and I went looking for concentrations of oaks dropping acorns yesterday and left disappointed, the snack sticks and discussions were good though lol. Good luck to everyone this hunting season!

Not mine, but very exciting. My brother has a farm in northern Maine. Bear, moose, waterfowl, deer, turkey on the farm.

Here is his bear from today. With his 6.5 PRC 200 yard freehand shot, as it stood up to try to wind him. No weight yet. Check in station is 1 hour away. AND he is not a knife guy .... BUT I did sell him a HDFK and he loved it, so i sold him a FK2 and its his favorite. Now he wants a Basic 5 signature.

Yesterday. It’s our muzzle loader season here. I haven’t taken a deer with the bow in years so wanted to try one more time before rifle starts on the 11th.

This guy is the best I’ve seen on the piece I have access to…not a monster but I’d be happy to catch him daylighting.

What tripod are you using? I'm looking into getting one for thermal night hunting. I need to get a call too. Any you prefer?
