Fishing rods...huh?

Looking at the specs of the xx, it's saying it has a 15" handle, where is that measured from. from the back of the reel seat on my current worm rod is 10" with a balancing kit on it, which is pretty good for me, I am 5'9" tall and 15" from the back of the reel seat goes a tiny bit past my elbow. Seems like it may be too long but I may not know about the benefits of longer handles

Btw the way, that rod is only 6'8" so 7'5" will be a hole different world to me. I do have some 7 footers I use for spinner baits and frogs though

Do you all know if the emft has the removable handle?

How are the shimano jackall poison adrena rods. TW is having a 25% off Sale right now. 262.00 for the 7'2" MH

With the zillion sv it would be pretty dang good. Maybe a slight tip heavy feel but nothing extreme. Balance point should be around an inch away from front of reel. Yes the xx should blow your mind compared to the old Johnny morris

That's not bad at all, kinda going for the lighter setup for less fatigue since I am switching to left handed retrieve after casting and reeling right for 30 years, just makes more sense and is more efficient...wish me luck....being left handed to begin with kinda makes me ambidextrous living in a right handed world

I am 6' and went from 6-6 rods to a 7-3 and it was different but not bad, I could pitch and roll cast. Just had to watch my back swing more. I just like a shorter rod, feel I am more accurate and more control. 6-8 to 7 footer.

I hear the Jackalls are good, I know a lot of guys love them to fish BFS with the Alderbarans in their less stout models.
Should be a nice step or two up from that Zodais.

Right I hear they are quite the rod. So you are a Daiwa guy? Have you fished the Morethan PE? It has always been on my radar because of Jun's assessment of it on JP tackle. Tuned for PE and bank fishermans dream, money and never fishing highend daiwa kinda kept me away. My buddy that buys highend daiwa hates the TWS but loves the SV so....He was the one that got me turned onto JDM Shimano. I loves the scorpions I had, and so far prefer centi brakes to mags. I never really had a problem with my quantum energy PT but I did part ways and move up to shimano and the reels do handle a better variety of baits especially on the lighter scale. I'd probably use the scorpion for lighter stuff and hard baits, the Morethan would be my spinnerbait/chatterbait and big worms. So what says you?

Ahhh yes, I have been to that forum a lot researching in the past.
now you have me a little worried about casting with a 7'5" vs the 6 8 I am used to. I guess it's not much different than a 7 footer, and I have no problem casting that one at all

It is not that bad, If you fish from a boat it is not thought at all. Just some cases fishing from the back it makes it trickier.
I think just get it an not worry, if you need to you can sell it. Most name brand rods will hold a lot of their value. Have you check out the for sale on bass boat central? If you have doubts you can pick up some nice used rods/reels there. Or Tackle tour forums.

It's funny, I have always thought, if you can't find it for sale used, there is usually a reason for it.....usually means it is that good nobody wants to get rid of it....no such luck finding a xx

True. I know that's the way it is on here lol. But then there are the guys that just need to try something new no matter how good it is. hahaha

I have not fished a morethan but it's because I was hoping a sv zillion would come out soon. My guess is your buddy doesn't like the tws reels because they are "bulky". The new zillion is the same size as the tatula ct and that thing palms great. I'm a daiwa fan but also love shimano. I have a calcutta 100 te dc mounted on a megabass evoluzion c40 elseil and tonight got me a hog on it. Would like to upload a picture of it but I don't know how. Anyone wanna send me an email so you can do it for me?? Lol.
I love the zillion tws and I'm sure with the sv spool the pe sv would be outstanding. Another one could look at would be the zillion tws hyper long cast. Love the looks of it and would be right at home on a destroyer x7 destruction.

The emtf does not have removable handle. Im 5'9 and the handles done bother me a bit...maybe working a top water with a long handle would be annoying but in a jig and t rig rod it's there for balance

Sweet, good to hear as I am the same height as you.
If you start a photobucket account (it's free) you can upload the photos to there and click on the pic, choose the share icon, and click on the one that is img, it will copy it and you paste it to the pic icon on the reply aera for a post

Man that new zillion that matches the CT looks sweet. But I am really surprised at the Steez with TWS wow. So different, man these weren't up here a week or tow ago. They have an 8.1 in the SS SV too.......Hmmmm I hope and wait for the morethan to go on close out, it looks like old daiwa hahaha......I got my scorpions dirt cheap that way. From JLS paid 120 for the 1500-7, when I sold it I made money.

I cant wa it for the new steez sv tws. It's goin to be sitting on the evergreen kaleido super stallion black edition
