Fisk Micro Show 2010 - Preview

Gentlemen, this isn't Rob...this is his wife posting. Just had to say that the first 2 knives posted are absolutely stunning. I love them!!!

Fisk Intergal Dirk NLT #6 for 2010:

Now that is what I call a "Very Nice Integral".
Well done, Jerry and good luck with the show.

The folder is a slipjoint, 4" closed, 3.5" blade, damascus and nice mammoth ivory. Would make a good toad sticker:

Damascus fighter is small, has a 7-3/16" double edged blade and is 12" over all, killer fossil walrus scales and a single gold pin. Picture really does not show it well:

Marvelous knives from Jerry, Don, Pete, and J.R., serious collectors, and all kinds of fun on the week-end. Jerry's Micro-Show is right at the top of possible knife events. Everyone who goes, makers and collectors alike, will have a ball.

My pics look pretty bad compared to Chuck's, but I'll have little or no time to get pro pics before the show.

Thanks!

Some dazzling cutlery here guys! Its going to be a great show for sure. Thanks for my morning fix.

Beautiful pieces guys, I sure hope there will be several pictures taken and posted here after the event, I've always heard Jerry's show was a lot of fun for all attending. If Pete C. has any pictures of what he's taking I hope he'll posts them here also.

Have a great show,

Bill

Bill, Pete's knives are coming.
Actually, there's a lot more coming.
One of the things I like most about Jerry's show is that even though there's not many makers in attendance as compared to other
small format "maker" shows, those who attend always bring quite a few knives. And they are generally their best, representing a good varity of the styles they make. And just to make it more interesting, they often throw a very unique piece (or two) in the mix.

Amen to Kevin's last comment. JR'S knives are outstanding this year!:D:thumbup: Keep 'em coming boys:D:D:D

Very beautiful knives. Jerry, that dirk is just plain amazing. Don, the ivory on that fighter is cool! Can't wait to see and handle these.

I'm very very excited and can hardly wait for the show. But I have still have lots of work to do.

Please excuse the photos. Mr. Ward will work his magic soon.

The Bowie is 15 inch OAL with a desert iron wood burl handle, stainless fittings and a couple copper spacers.

The hunter 9 and 1/4 OAL with a desert iron wood burl handle, stainless fittings and a bronze spacer.

I have a few others very near complete so I'll post them when I can. Hope to show the sheaths also.

Back to the shop.

The blade is 6-3/4" and it is 11-3/4" overall. All of the fittings are Iron and the grip is Elephant Ivory I have carved.
As you know I offer ALT knives numbered 1-10. All of the ALT knives for 2010 have been spoken for. I wanted to make something special for this show,
so I have started what I am calling my Pinnacle Series and I am using the un-numbered ALT stamp that I had reserved for my personal knives made for me.
So this is the first knife of the series. It being a Pinnacle Series the knife is mounted on the stand pictured below.

The knife mounted in the stand I forged out of Iron. It is mounted on a walnut block. I sure enjoyed making this knife and I hope you all like it.
The Pinnacle Series is not to take away from the other ALT numbered knives. It is to give me the opportunity to expand my work to another level of artistic dimension

This is a Damascus Composite "W" pattern Modified, South West Bowie. I have been working on the textures and etching of the Damascus.
I think this one turned out very nice. It is an extremely deep etch.
The blade is 10" and it is 15-1/2" overall. The clam shell guard is Damascus from the same steel as is the butt plate.

Here is a Damascus "W" pattern Dagger. I have also forged out a real nice mount for this knife. The handle is Ivory.
There is a lot of work on this one. Another Pinnacle Series stamped ALT. There is a vine etched on the blade.
The Blade is 8" and it is 13-1/4" overall. The grip is Elephant Ivory and the fittings are Iron.
There is a combination of acid engraving and carving on the fittings. Lots of work, but it turned out nice.

This is the MOP handled bowie that I have been working on. I am not sure I can get it to Chuck for photos before the show so thought I had best post what I have.

This is rare in the fact that MOP in thick scales for handles is getting almost impossible to find. These MOP scales measure a bit over 1/4 inch thich per side. I have put a frame on the handle with front bolsters. I could have put a back bolster on it but I wanted to help mother nature show what she's got as much as possible. I included several other poor quality photos just to show different parts up closer. This one is NLT #8 marked piece. I did a ladder'd W pattern on the steel. Engraving and gold inlays and gold pins. A civilized man should always have a pearl handle knife, that and our ability to accessorize is what seperates us from the lower animals.

Some seriously impressive work across the board. I have long been a fan of Jerry's integrals and think that both of the knives shown here are absolutley terrific.

Here's one I just got back from Paul Long. 9-1/4" damascus blade, damascus fittings (rare butt cap). Fossil walrus ivory. 14-1/4" overall length. Paul's sheath is gorgeous!

Beautiful and elegant Dress Bowie Jerry.
I can't imagine there's much if any MOP in that grade/size around.
I know I haven't been able to fine any.

Don, I really like your handle butt treatment. Outstanding Bowie and Paul Long Sheath.

Don - beautiful butt cap baby!

JR - love that stag southwest number - particularly your execution of the handle.
