Talk about a badass Bowie if the 916 was full handle, full tang and a tough inexpensive steel like 1095. That Bowie would be a grail for me.the 916 normally has a teeny tiny short handle. doesnt look that way on the custom buck builder, but trust me it is. I have one.
occasionally buck makes a special run with useable handle sizes. have one of those too. those are the ones ya want unless you just want a teeney tiny short handle.
it's one of my beefs with what could be such a great knife. maks version is great. that normal version with the teeny tiny handle....... makes it a displayer much more than a user. you can use it but it could be much better with an full sized handle.
Ok i think i finally figured something out!
I started this thread to determine, with sound opinion and advice, which fixed blade knife i should get for my birthday. Like the Highlander used to say “There can be only ONE”
At least so i thought.
So all this thread has accomplished is it’s given me some good ideas as to which one i want to get first........??
You are all a bad influence on me!
yep. heck 5160 would be fine, or 1075....I'm not that picky on steel. the full sized useable handle is the need for this knife. call it the 917. copied on the great porsche number.Talk about a badass Bowie if the 916 was full handle, full tang and a tough inexpensive steel like 1095. Sassa this is not helpful!Buy both at the same time...![]()
yes Sir.Jb in that last picture is that a 124 in the black sheath on the right?
Great idea!! Pistol makers figured out recently ( last 5-10 years) that one size doesn’t fit all. Most have standard options to custom fit the grip for small medium and large hands. I think we would just like underwear options sm,med,lg.yep. heck 5160 would be fine, or 1075....I'm not that picky on steel. the full sized useable handle is the need for this knife. call it the 917. copied on the great porsche number.people who want the tiny handle 916 can keep getting it and we can get a user. make it a great user instead of mainly only a displayer.
