Fixed blades

The 2s were tanto if I am not mistaken, up until my p&l I never really cared for tantos. Id had them many times in the past and would usually round the second point into a belly. The more traditional Japanese tantos already have a belly, which I like. I suppose I should have said I never cared for American tantos.

Kabar has a tanto with beautiful lines, and curves.....
I keep wishing they did a custom/fancy version.....before I'm forced to buy a few and rehandle them proper like

Oof. We might could do a swap for a little bit, anything you wana test drive?
Hmmm, nothing I can particularly think of at the moment. I’m going to be receiving a Gossman Polaris in S7 in a few days so that’s going to get some belt time. The DEK2 will be sitting for while as the Polaris will see some work duty.

And you have Me in the first or second week in January.....

I'm tempted! Well don't be coy, post some pics!

I like hearing from people like You who have had lots of good knives going through your hands..... We as makers can learn A lot.
I know I have
I’m a catch and release type. if I don’t connect with the knife, I usually sell or trade evenly or at a slight loss. I’ve used my CPK, Beckers, Tops, Bussekin, etc quite hard. Most handles agree with me, but Ethan Becker’s is still the gold standard.

More than a decade ago the knife that brought me here was a becker bk2, the old stamped one. Still have it. I went through a becker stage. Then in 2013 I got my first busse and went on a busse kick. Owning a almost 70 acre farm I got to put all the knives to real use, chopping the legs off a frozen deer? Check. Skin a 600lb hog? Check. Stab a deer in the neck who had been hit by a car in city limits? Check.

Many knives have come and gone. I'll sell at a loss too, I either use em or lose em for the most part. With the exception of matts knife he made me and knives that were gifted to me. I keep them forever.

I got my first Becker, a BK39 in 2015. It was a favorite, and to this day the King (BK9) is still in my top 5 all time fixed blades. The first hard use blade I’ve ever owned was a Tops/Buck 650 Nighthawk bought for me by my father in 1996/7 when I was 11. I still have the Nighthawk.View attachment 2420754

Love the feel of dek2 but she's girthy. Made a brisket yesterday and it was not my first choice for trimming it.
