Fixed blades

Progress Pics: Putting this one together this week..
First time using this Micarta from Shadetree.
I like it. It's coarse, but grippy. Plus I like the looks of the weave. Capped it with black linen Micarta in the rear. Will add tubing After handle shaping. Right now it's just profiled. Hope You will like it.

You’ve definitely developed a style ! That handle is looking good so far ! Do it all drop point ain’t bad either 🥇

Couple things about it....It's a knife with a Lot of thought going into it. It's really a great design. I've actually got 3 of them coming out soon. I was hoping to keep one, but I've got a Bunch of heat treating to pay for.....what's neat is all three are very similar, but still very different. Different steels, different blade thickness, and different handle materials. I'm still learning, and it was a good study how each effects the design.

This one, on the 8670 knife....the hardware that I made is a mixture of brass and bronze. Normally I mix it up with aluminum but used brass here. It's hard to see. I think they will patina differently later, and my "googly eyes" will become more apparent, then

Anyways, I just meant to say Thank You for liking my work.

In the most respectful manner….MAKE SOME MORE!🤣 Super nice design.

Haha, thanks....I hope to keep making knives for as long as I can
I'm just going in circles with What direction??? Haha designing and making the knives is the easy part of life
Only speaking for myself, but I really appreciate knives that have a purpose-driven design. Knowing that you test your designs/knives for performance and function is great. All the different knives you post photos of look like anyone could grab one and get to work. I hope to own one in the near future.

I hope so too, I don't have anything in Alaska! :D

We're approaching 3 years of fixed blades, idk where the time goes. This thread and all the guys posting in it is the primary reason I stay logged in to bladeforums. Its cost me some money, as there's terrible influences in this room but by golly I like the lot of ya, I don't care what those other guys say!

You can’t leave, you started this. This is the best thread happening on Blade Forums ( return of the tacticool is next best though ).

One of the best slicers I’ve ever used.

One of these years you are going to have to let me make you a Pretty knife.
😅😅😅😅

*although edit to add, Your knife is pretty significant in my design arsenal. That knife I kinda just whipped up last minute in order to rush some out to heat treating.

Later you saw and liked that profile....when making your knife, I too fell in love with it and now i that "Long Paw" handle is a staple design.

Prepared some Firebox Nano sized chunks of firewood with the BK-7 to prepare lunch.

Split the chunks in 4 and removed some of the center to set up the Nano like a Swedish torch
