“Outlaw Bushcraft” pattern. A little larger that the other one I have. Comfortable, well balanced and useful knife.
I carry a fixed blade almost every day. I think a huge thing with carrying them is finding not only the right knife, but also a comfortable/easily accessible way of carrying it. A beautiful and great knife needs an equally great sheath. People are built differently, have different degrees of mobility and dexterity, and we dress differently so what works for one may not work for another.I WANT to like fixed blades. Hell, I DO like them. I just don’t find them useful, except in the kitchen.
I don’t camp, and when I need a chopper, I go straight for a hatchet.
What I Do have:
- Glock field knife
- Mora Companion
- Old Timer Sharpfinger (80s Vintage)
I think I’d like one of those Canadian boots and trout knives one day. Might use it as a kitchen knife.
My Dad carried fixed blades frequently 6” blade or less Never larger than 6”. He would pocket carry them in the sheath. Never on his belt. Never asked him why, it’s just how he did it. Worked for him.I carry a fixed blade almost every day. I think a huge thing with carrying them is finding not only the right knife, but also a comfortable/easily accessible way of carrying it. The Canadian Grohmann Trout and Bird knife is an excellent design for many cutting needs.
Could always starts raising pigs again. That used to keep you busy enough with a fixed blade. You're both embarrassing me. I haven't put any wear on a fixed blade in awhile. Love it, Will.
I actually miss raising them. I bought a bunch of hog panels last year to make another pig pen and I turned some of them into a chicken coop. But haven't made another hog pen here in Kentucky.Could always starts raising pigs again. That used to keep you busy enough with a fixed blade.
Dude, it’s a monster! And one of the most comfortable knives I’ve ever held. The strip, polish and etch job was awesomely executed. Thanks for the compliment, Kyle! Means a lot coming from you! That is absolutely beautiful. Those regulators are gnarly
