Cerakote was not friendly lolOh, never tried cerakote before. I have had Kleen strip work when Citristrip didn’t though.
I have cerakoted gun parts and they’re pretty durable. Sand blasting will take it right off too.Cerakote was not friendly lol
Cerakote is pretty durable. Citristrip melts regular gloves and swiss army scales. If anyone finds anything that removes cerakote definitely share!I have cerakoted gun parts and they’re pretty durable. Sand blasting will take it right off too.
I think cerakote has to be removed by media blasting. Your thinners, strippers, removers, acetone, etc won’t work.Cerakote is pretty durable. Citristrip melts regular gloves and swiss army scales. If anyone finds anything that removes cerakote definitely share!
I found if you use aluminum oxide as the blast media, it leaves a finer, smoother finish, than using silica based blasting media, which is a rougher, matte, new CRK type finish.I was gonna say, the only guy I've seen try to remove cerakote gave up after several applications of Kleen Strip and expoxy remover and had it sand blasted.
Yeah, I'm sure there is better media to use that wouldn't take sanding to smooth out afterwards. I use the hell out of the two Beckers I had blasted and then sanded to a real smooth finish. You did one for me, but I don't remember if it was the BK5 or the BK15.
