Fixed fighter--------suggestions???

Already have cheaper versions. Looking to add something with some value to the collection.

No problem, Kabar Ek's run about 100.00 to 130.00, not super cheap, double edge, and false upper edge daggers and Bowie. Did not mean cheap like Pakistsni or Chinese version. Now if you could find the pre Kabar versions, that would be nice,Blackjack made them until 1997 and are collectible, or from the Richmond, Va era. Just a thought. Let us know what which direction you go.

For smaller, more EDC friendly blades, take a look at Joe Watson and Tracker Dan.

Will def take a look at this. Thanks for the suggestion!!!

If you're getting a bowie as your fighting knife try to get one that has the swedge sharpened. A sharpened swedge allows for vicious back cuts. Alot of people don't really understand what a back cut is or how simple and intuitive it is to perform one. I think the true strength of the bowie as a fighting inife is within those very back cuts.

Here is a video that explains back cutting https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=azWerLBGqJg

This is what I will take a look at so far:
Dozier KM-1 Ranger.
Randall Made model 14.
CRK fixed blades.
Various fixed blades by Spartan.
Various fixed blades by Treeman knives.

The only fly in the ointment is Mr. Dozier has a wait time. You may be able to locate one on the secondary market. It's hard to beat Mr. Dozier's mastery of D2 steel though.

Osprey Knives here has a Ferox which looks bad...I have a Jim Bensinger (here also) Street Barong that is very cool and he does a lot of mean blades.

Gentlemen:

For your consideration is this Presentation Grade chute knife in Exhibition Grade Sambar Stag/CPM-154. The stag matches perfectly on both sides in color and figure. Though profiled to the Loveless pattern, this is a heavy chute with a .210" thick ricasso and rear bolsters - combined with the thick stock and wide palm swells this is a handful. The solder joint is true with no pinholes. Superb fit and finish - I hope you like it! The first "I'll take it," PM, or email gets it. $SOLD delivered CONUS. Paypal preferred to tksteingass@frontier.com. Thanks for viewing and your comments are welcome.

Merry Christmas to All,

TK

I don't know what this sold for, but I'd look for something similar from a custom maker here on the forum. Perhaps with different material if stag and leather isn't your thing.

I 2nd that. I love my Steingass 3V Subhilt.

Just curious... Where and how do you intend to carry it and what is your primary use going to be ???

And no, there is no sarcasm meant by that question. It might help us help you

It will either be displayed in my mancave or be attached to my battlebelt for the zombie apocalypse.

That is a beautiful blade right there! Thanks for sharing.

Well, there are what I consider to be 5 primary types of fighting fixed blades.

1) Bowie Style
2) Tanto Style (Americanized and Traditional)
3) Dagger/Stiletto/Spike style (push knives would also fall into this category)
4) Karambit/Hawkbill style
5) Khukuru/Recurve style

Which did type did you have in mind?

True, but OP would have to wait 5 years.
Aftermarket prices are closer to 700-800

What? Wait 5 years? Aftermarket prices $700-800? Absolutely not. Go to Clinton Knives and get one brand new for $410 in three days.

Leaning more towards bowie and tanto. Open to anything though. Members on here are always introducing some stuff I may not have noticed before.
