FWIW, here are a couple photos (neither are mine, sorry) that, given the nature of the material, really show the contouring difference between the FK2 and FK3/BFK scales. The FK2 scales are a good 2-3 layers thicker at the center screw palm swell, to give an idea.

Big WOW Mat! I love the contrasting looks between the darker ironwood with the bright satin steel vs. the lighter Osage with the darker acid washed steel. Great design plan with Yin & Yang personalities.

Unpopular opinion: the FK3 looks fantastic with the stonewash rubbed off! It really shows off the gorgeous lines of this knife, and honestly- it cuts waaay better this way! This wasn’t my intention actually, but there was a smudge in the finish of the bevel after cutting some kindling, and I tried some Flitz to smooth it out and well- it did. A lot more than I was expecting! But I’m happy with it. I also have an old used FK2 that’s much shinier than this FK3, and not a spec of rust anywhere on it, so I’m not worried about corrosion at all. Oh, and the Lorien Arnold BFK sheath fits perfect- even with the FK2 scales!
