Last time we went camping I used my FK2 to baton firewood for kindling. I kind of wished it had a little longer blade so that got me to the FK3. Has anyone used this one hard like batonning and such?

The first thing I did when I got my FK3 is go out and baton some kindling- it worked great, and the edge didn't show any wear, but it did take a bit of the stone wash off where it bit into the wood, (purely cosmetic) so ended up polishing the rest off for fun. It actually cuts better and cleans up easier now.

Late to the party, as I just got back to the US and picked up the knife that was waiting for me, but the FK3 fixes the issues I had with the BFK, just as I hoped it would. Feels much better balanced and more nimble in the hand.

I upgraded the scales on my FK3 to buffed ECAM from the unbuffed standard micarta. I might put the unbuffed scales on my B5FK since that will be used hard and the unbuffed has a nice grippy feel to it.

Playing around with my tweaker FK3 it seems the engraving is in the same spot and is the same size other than the bloat on the triangle. The primary grind just comes down a hair more. #notNathan moment though

The top is a BFK that arrived yesterday from the 3/21 sale in tweaked D3V. Couldn’t believe the near-mirror edge on this one!
