Flashlights

Nice score DC. I love my lenslights. I edc a LL micro and rotate night carry between my LL mini and an HDS 170. I haven't tried a knockout yet but I'd like to at some point. Let us know how you like it after you put it through the paces. :)

Hey Jensen, I like it very much.... so far so good. I'm really getting used to the focusable light, It's a much more usable beam (for me) I live not too far from LensLight so I went down there to try out the different lights, the feel, the light output. I have to say, i did notice a pretty good difference between the the KO and the mini. It's only a 100 lumen bump but still noticeable. I'm using 3.7v rechargeable lithium ion batteries and it seems to be doing just fine... We'll see how it goes

^ Thanks DC! I'm going to have to pick one up for sure. I love their lights. They are great people to deal with on top of having outstanding products. It's easy to see why they have a cult following (Like a certain Ohio based knife company I know ;)).

Hey Jensen81, I snapped off these pix last night (The Lenslight KO is on top, Duracell on the bottom of the pic).... Check out the zero light spill on the KO vs the other light. Lenslight is precision you can't beat... beautiful even 4500k light temp.

P.S. the other light is a Duracell 500 lumen focusable, it runs on 3 C cell batts and is an absolute beast. Costco has 'em for $24 for 2 including batteries. While it's not convenient or practical for edc, if you need to light up a raccoon or other "thing" at 100 - 200 feet, it'll light up the subject and the surrounding area with plenty of contrast. I'm sure it'll hit up to 240 yards (as advertised on the packaging)

That circle is insane! so tight and no bleed? I guess that is what separates what I consider an expensive light (not slamming them, I just can't afford them) from my Maratac lights. I need to take some pix to see what they'd look like. What is the camera set up you are using?

Muphasta, if your maratac lights had a lens like the lens light they would have that tight beam too. Lights with reflectors will have spill. Lights like the lens light won't.

Awesom pics DC. Thanks for taking the time to do that and share them here with us. :) Very cool of you. If I can just stop buying XMs ill pick one up! Haha.

A while ago my dad gave me an old Surefire Z9 flashlight he had picked up for Y2K. I upgraded it with a CREE 320 (I think) Lumens LED bulb. It uses CR123A batteries. I don't have a pick of it in action, but it can shoot a clear beam 150 feet pretty reliably.
The lanyard is home made. I took one look at $16 ones on ebay then just went and made my own for under $5.
Soory for weird angle. Photobucket does that for some reason.

Hey muphasta, Maratac makes a great light. I think the Lenslight was designed to not have any spill or at least keep it to an absolute minimum and not have any hot spots.

That pic I actually took with my Samsung S4 phone in auto mode

cool, pretty amazing pic considering it is a phone pic! thanks for the info. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy w/my sub $50 lights. I usually get tweaked out by others' gear and go spend friendly, but considering we are trying to buy a house, I am doing my best to be satisfied w/what I have!

Yes the house is worth the less gear for now :D

Looks like my HDS will show up some time in June. By the time it's over with, I'll have waited longer for a flashlight than I did my suppressor.

Lots of guys on here waited about a year or so. Some were lucky to grab them when they came available. I waited for 6 weeks myself.

Not trying to rub it in but I made the decision that I NEEDED an HDS light and just happened to be looking at this thread a while back when someone posted a vendor had them in stock. It was the exact 250 rotary I was looking for and I ordered it. I went from wanting an HDS Friday evening to having one in my mail box on Monday. I understand how lucky I was and I am very thankful for it because I stopped looking at and buying lights when I got it.

Only way I'll ever stop looking is when all the benefits of the HDS are realized in a lighter package that addresses all the drawbacks....as minor as they are....since HDS are my EDC illumination tools.

I ordered mine at the beginning of Jan, is June when the expected ship date is now? I'm excited, but it seems like it's taken forever. Hopefully worth the wait.

Here's a video showing the new differences between rotary and tactical rotary from Thor's Hammer he shared on CPF.
