Flashlights

Thank you Rich, and thank you for the pic meluck. The size comparison is very helpful. I keep seeing mcgizmos called the sundrop and the mule. They look to be smaller than the haiku. Do any of you guys own a sundrop or a mule? If so any thoughts on those vs the haiku?

I don't own the sundrop or mule, but have handled a mule, which is slightly smaller. It has a different beam pattern, tighter floodiness is the best way to describe it. The reason I chose the Haiku, is that it can be upgraded with different emitters easier, because the mule/sundrop size can only fit certain emitters.

The mules have no hot-spot. They are like turning on a light bulb. Just clean light. Good for headlamps, but no throw at all.
A shallow textured reflector is much better for a edc

The mule has no reflector and just a window lens, it is just an LED at the front of the light (hence why it is smaller and shorter).

The sundrop has no reflector but it has a saphire lens to focus the light with a very high CRI LED out front.

If I could only have one Mcgizmo, it would be a Haiku, but all of his other models serve a purpose but are more specialized in one way or another. I have the Sapphire which is a very nice small light but the output is very low. I still enjoy the Ti PD-S.

Flashlights, Knives, Guns, Jeeps, Cars, .... I'd be a Busy Rich Guy if those numbered balls would ever co-operate!!

Looks like the Haiku is the one for me. Thank you again for all of the help guys. The hunt begins!!!

Thanks brother. I just emailed Don directly and he got back to me within ten minutes. He is building one for me now and will have it in the mail tomorrow. He seems like a really nice guy. Talk about service!!! Wow! I'm psyched.

Ya I was shocked. I thought it would take months. He said typically after taking a direct order he builds it and gets it in the mail within 24 hours.
