for winter, what Buck ya carrying and how cold is it...

Currently it’s 40° overcast and a lite breeze. Tomorrow around noon time a blizzard is supposed to hit with 3-4 inches of snow, 70 mph winds followed by bitter cold temps declining through the week down to -0°. I’m not looking forward to it as it causes a lot of problems at work. Today I’m carrying my 501 Larrin, but not much activity just doing some laundry and housework.

2f right now, -7f with wind chill. Forcast is much colder in the next week, coldest day is supposed to be Friday with high of -18f and low of -27f, or high -34f and low -48f with wind chill 🥶 (we usually use Celcius in Canada, but Fahrenheit seems to be standard for this thread). Carrying a Buck 112 as usual.

I just got lazy converting to c in my posts is all......😉

also forgot to say what Buck I had on me lately.....

Well the blizzard hit and we are hunkered down at the plant. About noon time I was at the sublette station when it hit. We got done with stuff and got out of there. It’s normally a 25-30 minute drive from there to the plant but it took about 1.5 hours. At times a white out. Now five of us are staying put till the wind dies down and roads open up. A couple of guys left out earlier and just barely made it to town. I’m just sitting here watching Michigan and Washington football with my trusty vantage pro and 303 cadet. We’re good for now!

I had to stay at the plant a few times in 96-97 winter while in Southwest Minnesota. At least you had something to occupy your time

Winter showed up in Nebraska yesterday after having a relatively mild December. I-80 closed both directions, wind gusts 45-50 mph. Some artic air coming in behind of the snow this weekend and going to be kind of chilly for the next week or so. Got an early start moving snow this morning while it was still about 30*. Temps are dropping and going to be about 11* overnight. Have my trusty 301 in my right front pocket. Never leave home without it! Kinda wishing I was in Florida! Everybody stay warm.

close up shop and head south for the winter...doors always open down here in florida for folks like ya.......

Based on my guesstimation (not actual data), it's been warmer than normal here in Indiana. Today it's 40 degF and raining (prime hypothermia weather). The Sun has been obscured for most of our winter so far, so the cloud cover is helping insulate and keep things a little warmer than clear skies would.

I've got a 112 LT in one hoodie pocket and the 426 in the other.

Wet and slick. I really need new tyres.

Got my "custom" 112 barehead.

I just checked my 10-day forecast. It looks like what hit you will be getting to me over the weekend (thanks for nothin'!). Dropping to single digits Saturday night, below 0 degF Sunday night, and not back to double digit highs until Tuesday or Wednesday.

I may have to wear long pants when I hit the range for practice on Sunday! But probably not. I got a Carhartt jacket from my best friend on New Year's Day, so I'll be plenty warm. Unless it's super windy. 😬

While we DO get hurricanes AND have more tornadoes per square mile than any other state (most are small weak F-0 to F-2) when the temperature is near freezing the TV folks hand out desperate warnings to save your pets and plants..We have room and a great Governor so come on down.

It is currently 2 degrees here, wind chill is -14 degrees. Mrs. Texpat refuses to get out of the bed, she and the cat are snuggled deep under about 8 layers of blanket near as I can tell. I am rockin my Buck beanie and 119 special in 3V though I dare not touch it without gloves on, lol.
