Formal Occasions and what- or IF- you carry

This is what I carried at the last "formal" wedding I went to. A ZT0308 and a Leatherman Mutt.

I'm not built for formal... But if I actually had to be for a serious moment, I'd choose my Sebenza.
You sir have excellent taste in shoes for a formal affair. Socks too I might add.

Formals, black tie or suit, I go small and classy (like many others have already stated). I tend to slip a Pattadese, LionSteel Opera or Enzo Birk in my inside left breast pocket. My pants pockets are usually filled with too much bs. Being back in the office full-time in a suit/sport coat-slacks, has me carrying similar type knives (small/classy) until I enter the office, then it is buried in my business carry bag. Too PC for me to risk triggering a sensitive snowflake😁.

A man still has to eat
..
Are you gonna pick that steak up in your hands, and gnaw on it? Carry a knife: it is proof our civilized nature. 🙃

My "civilized nature"? My ex-wife might disagree with you on that. But if I have to go to a wedding where I will need my own knife to eat my dinner, then I would go with a "status symbol" knife like Oklahoma Outlaw Oklahoma Outlaw suggested — Sabenza. Yeah, Double O, I'm callin' you out, brother. You think you're too good for us, with your fancy Russian knives? Let's go, then. You want a piece of me? I'm right here. :D

My personal preference for a smaller gentleman's carry would be to echo the mnandi suggestion, or to go with a traditional/modern traditional like a fallkniven. The likelihood of you needing a knife might be slim, but if you do, you want to maintain a somewhat classy aesthetic and not be the guy that scared the crap out of their table. I'd also steer clear of the elementum. The knife I carried at my wedding was a TA Davison custom

A knife ankle holster? I'm down for three (one for each ankle and a backup). Where's the "Buy Now" button?
It's the Galco Gunleather ankle safe. I don't use it often but it's pretty cool.

Why thank you! Who knows, maybe they will still be in good taste 15 years from now when I'm still wearing them.

For formal events i carry a carbon fiber chapparal, a large inkosi or an alox sak. I recently carried a Farid K2 to a wedding as well.
