I've been carrying my slick handled elk version since I received it Friday (not a long time for a knife - yet). The other, more figured elk, I set back for a gift - probably for my son (but he never uses any knife I give him, he just sets them back as keepers). OH

Mine is definitely a user. I am not against the idea of owning safe queens, display pieces, or keeping knives unused in a collection. However, this particular knife is made for using. Sturdy design and a high end steel. Beautiful without being exquisite. No reason for it to sit on a shelf for me.

I went back and forth about using it or passing it on because of the thick grind. I finally decided to reprofile it and use it because of the steel. The Sheepsfoot is done with a roughly 11-12(est)dps back bevel and a 15dps microbevel and cutting performance is way up. It took a great edge, popping hair from the back of my hand where the skin is all wrinkly and loose. CPM-154 is good that way. The clip blade is about half done, I only work for about a half hour at a time and then take a break. The clip is slower because of the curve. Every time I do this, I tell myself that I'm going to buy a belt grinder. I never do. Next time I will. Really.

No sir just the address of a random post office box. Upon delivery it will be flown to me via Carrier pigeon that is coated with a food grade radar absorbing paint.

food grade is smart - that way you can eat the pigeon for an additional layer of security!
