Friend of mine found old Knifetest.com video/ THIS is the Joe X DESTRUCTION VIDEO Thread

Getting a lot of people echoing to Facebook and YouTube that bladeforums is “deleting” peoples threads and won’t let people discuss the test which is absolutely false.

The Reason some threads were deleted by me was that we do not need a bunch of duplicate threads showing the same thing.
as I explained a few comments ago.

You can cut wood with a stainless steel kitchen knife... I was personally inspired by the Noss tests and for 10 years I considered Busse to be the strongest. check out Joe's other videos...many steels didn't get that kind of damage. but here the steel behaved like glass. so far the best results have been shown by aus8 and sk85
Had a Barkie in A2 chip twice on wood. With Busse I’ve cut aluminum poles in half on concrete with little edge damage that was caused by the concrete below the pole.

Rewatching the video the amount of effort he’s pulling on that thin anorexic tip is amazing. Cutting through the car door with zero edge damage. The only thing that seemed to damage it was cutting through rocks at 60hrc.

Aus8, sk85, and machetes certainly aren’t 60hrc.

I'm attacking him because of his attitude, and replies to viewer comments. Users imply Jerry will lose weeks of sleep over this, and is in "hiding". Viewers have referred to INFI as "Shitfi" upon which he laughed. I'm all for testing and transparency. What I do not appreciate is his lack of support for a company willing to go the extra mile, with and for him. As I stated previously people in his situation would do well to have a little class and grace. And reading the comments and moreover his replies, does not sit well with me. There's shit talk, and then there's being a piece of shit about it. Of which I think he has done the latter.
THIS!
I completely agree with you. I just don't think this guy thinks more than an inch in front of his nose. He just does. Problem is that foul language usually demonetizes videos. So all that work he did and all the views he gets are for naught. When you bring a mans wife in a derogatory manner into the discussion, you have gone to far and he certainly did that.
AND THIS! (especially that last sentence!)

I fear that while the test and its results should be the main focus, it's getting lost in all the immature and downright rude insulting going around (in the YT comments section and by Joe himself). There's simply no call for any of that.

Drunkeness often leads to acting like a fool and this video showed exactly that.

Sadly this is shaping up to be more of a social commentary illustrating how internet anonymity can bring out the worst in people encouraging them to completely lose their filter and manners. I doubt most of them would talk this much trash face to face with the maker! I'm very happy to say that I've always seen Jerry be a stand-up guy and I've never seen him act like this. That alone makes me happy to support his business.

I tried explaining that exact reason on Facebook. In fact it even said that reason in the persons screenshot but I guess they disregarded it.

And I also wanted to say about the guarantee. a guarantee is great when you sit on the couch for years and can wait for a replacement knife. imagine that your knife breaks in the mountains (personally, I often go hiking). and what will I do, use a piece of the blade? I would buy myself an Ares that passed all the tests and its edge was not even damaged by the pipe and stone. but it weighs 1.1 kilograms and that's a lot. In terms of design and weight, Busse has no alternatives for me.

1. Busse will warranty it.
2. Why do you say wait for years?
3. You can get a Busse knife right now that weighs significantly less than the ares and still cut longer and cut through car doors and such with no damage but you can’t find an alternative?🤔

Hmm

What I'm trying to say is that it's like crash testing cars. everything is destroyed, it is important to understand the nature of destruction and the load. I will be glad to have an indestructible knife that will have 55-58, and not 60.

I meant that Busse has excellent design and ergonomics with acceptable weight and size. but as it turned out, this is not the strongest steel (at least on the knife that Joe tested). and I have a Busse and have always tested my knives, even cutting a 0.25 bolt, so the result that Joe got surprised me. but I have never tried to chop a stone, I just never thought that a stone could so seriously destroy a knife.

I'm pretty sure a literal rock is the one thing you shouldn't try and chop in half. I'd be more than happy with the cut bolt.

Sand, rocks, stone, ceramic, glass, diamond are all things that are very very damaging to blades simply due to their nature, the hardness.

Just as steel is to wood, rock is to steel.

The only difference is how the steel will react to the rock, break or bend. I’m 110% certain the Ares was more of an edged sledge hammer than a knife after the rock.

Not saying the AFBM should have chipped away either. It’s certainly an interesting result. But I’m not very surprised.

It’s a rock.

I have a pretty good feelin that before all this is over, Jerry will silence JoeX & all the nay sayers......there was obviously something wrong with that afbm - just hang tight.
INFI, as we've all saw plenty of times is the toughest blade steel there is...it'll all shake out in the end.
