That's entirely up to you ;). The guy who started the quote thread finds it a bit unseemly for the guy who started the quote thread to quote himself in the quote thread. I mean cheese an rice, how big of an ego does that guy have, anyway?

:D

In other news, I do not own a hatchet, and haven't used one in many years. I don't really even "need" one... I have plenty other cutty things that can cut stuff. But gosh dang it, you guys are really wearing me down... :)

I know I've posted these before. These are the ones I need to clean up and rehandle. Sure would be nice to have a workshop. Make things much easier. I have cleaned the heads up on the Norlund, and double bit:

Well worth the $2 I gave for them 25 or so years ago.

I already have a couple decent axes and mauls (and sledges and hammers I use about four times a year), but regardless... I'll give ya $10 plus shipping costs for the lot. That's a better return than most stocks ;) Heck, the "scrap iron" is worth that much, never mind the cool factor.

Just teasin'... I realize this isn't the place to do business. If those were mine, I'd keep 'em, too.

I don't have a hatchet either. Smallest axe I have has a 14" handle. Anything needing a smaller chopper than that gets the BK9.

Had a quick little project last night. This used to be a machete that was trimmed down due to damage, then left out in the elements for a LONG time... then was given new life, now here it is again a little different. Call me crazy but the grinding work seems to have made it a better performer. Never mind the handle BTW, its what I call a "test" (paracord and tape) handle... to see if its going to be worth putting in time making a better handle for.

I dont have a before being cut down/left out in the elements for over a year and some more pic, but here it is after all that use and abuse...

Here it is after I refurbished it for the second or third time... I dunno... I'm already lost...

And here it is as it sits now...

Just a little time on a bench grinder. It looks all nasty here cause I have been using it cutting junk... Tested it on a free hanging 2 liter bottle of pop full of water, sailed right through. For scale its about 1 to 2" bigger than the BK9.

that's a mean looking hunk of steel.

Its perfect for slice and dice, but lacks the mass for a full on chopper, either way though, just that little bit of work made a world of difference in cutting performance. Its a perfect little pack machete. Weighs almost nothing.

I hear ya Hoss, I truly do. I can't see myself carrying a hatchet or axe more than about 20 yards from my garden shed or vehicle. Heck, I put food in the cupboard making chopper-type knives... so it's not like I'm trying to talk anyone out of using them. ;)

But there's just something about a nice hatchet... I own three hawks too, and I don't really "need" them either... :D

I REALLY like that baton!

Yeah, that's burly. Ho ho! See what I did there? :p

Brilliant:

Tornados have zero respect . . . we're all vulnerable.

Saw a picture similar to that on the Weather Channel. Not a roof standing.

Really feel for the neighborhood and those adversely affected.

This anywhere close to you?

Not spend money? You've been on a boat for 7 weeks...what have you needed to spend money on (other than rent/mortgage) in that time ;)?... Your line of work, maybe forget the G10 and look at the Dragonfly 2 Salt...H1 steel. Just a projection of my own desire, really. Enjoy your tropical beverages, there'll be plenty of crappy weather left for you when you get back.

Totally true on both counts, tho the home expenses are high.
I wish the H1 was flat ground, but having read a bit about that steel I realize that wouldn't work. If I could get the yellow or orange in G10 instead of FRN with the VG-10 I'd be all over that.

Wow, lots of little spydie love! Gotta have one each from the big quality vendors, I think. Got Kabar, Benchmade, and Kershaw covered.

here's an end-of-season pic for y'all. Trust me, 90% of the time it's work-work-work, but there are some special moments:

Getting better with the recurve at 10 yards, kept them in a 4-5" grouping this time, 2 arrows in the "bullseye" 2 sets of shots the arrows were touching. I was so excited i hollered at the wife to come down to watch LMAO But i need an arm guard BAD the string rubbed my arm one time and hurt like hell, i got a red rash looking bruise half way down my arm now.

Super fun!!

Need to get out to an archery range so i can shoot at different ranges.
