What thread are you checking for updates? I'm curious if he is moving out any warlocks or shamwaris. I want to think we are getting closer everyday, but sometimes it feels like eternity.

SAbladeforums, the thread named -Gareth Bull updates-

a member on there said,

"I know at least two of us who got knives from him this week... "

Thanks for the tip, Wolf.

You know for me this is the hardest time of the year to wait on a custom grail knife. All the 2014 products are coming out and with materials like M390, S90V, M4, carbon fiber, laminates, etc. becoming increasingly common it's tough to wait seeing the great offerings. Like right now the BM940-1 is in the works for 2nd Qtr. this year in carbon fiber and S90V! A really nice combo and great overall design: axis lock, slim, light, great blade to handle ratio.
Knowing one is on the way doesn't help when one is for sale ready for delivery.
Man I want my GB knife! I keep telling myself how great it will be. Great craftsmanship, titanium lock, LSCF, M390, lip opening mechanism, awesome early detents, etc. Very simple, elegant. The knife! (I hope).
The extended wait is making it harder for the knife to live up to all the anticipation. Like waiting on Christmas 3 times running....
I could live with the new 940-1, but would it be as good to me as the GB Shamwari?...

Wolf: the last time I spoke with Gareth I decided to get the small Shamwari. I thought you may want to correct it on the first page here, not that it really matters.

Gazza: you still kicking over there? Touch base with us when you have a moment. We all like the reassurance from your updates!

fixed :)

Great that you got your order! Guy: I don't see you on the list. When did you place your original order for that knife? Just trying to figure out where I may be on the list and others may do the same. Congratulations! So what do you think about it?

Really stoked they are coming!

I was never on the list here as such as I have not been on the BF forum for some time.

My order dates back to the inception of the Miura Pattern around early April 2013, I was busy getting plenty of regrinds done from Gareth, and during a visit I wanted a supersize Shamwari, but after Gareth made the mock up, it was evident that the Shamwari should stay where it is - Gareth pointed out that there were snags with his Warlock and Shamwari that really set him back(one of which being too many options). He had this Miura pattern and was about to cut for show stock and I expressed my desire for one, however I wanted it explicitly for carry with custom work done to the original to make Bantam Weight, the milling required on the blade to bring it down from the stock that he had on hand plus the Blacksite CF was milled down too for an even sided handle, every thing was milled down leaner. A sweeping forward cantered blade and the most "purrfect" plunge lines on a thinner blade, single thin liner/bronze anodised with a tip down clip.

To say I am thrilled with the knife is an understatement, at the Heart of Gareth Bull lies an artist and a craftsman, Quality and Class are the words that echo from this piece.

Thank you Gareth for making true on your promise.

I too would like a regrind from Gareth. I want to get my M4 mini Ritter reground with chamfering on the upper spine. My intention was to send it in after delivery of the Shamwari since he has been so backed up.

Gazza: Are you still turning out regrinds while working on projects? I am assuming so since it would be a good way to "feed the machine" so to speak and keep money flowing.

just a quick note as I too was thinking about having a regrind done. The regrind wouldn't be very cost effective to send it to SA and then have it shipped back.

say you have a $200 knife, the regrind would cost more than half the knife.

I'm Just putting it into perspective. :)

I'm sure the regrind is worth it but just something to think about.

The reginds I have had done are perfect! I send them to him on a Friday and they are ready on the Monday. In total GB has done 13 regrinds for me. His grinding work is amazing.

Hi E_KG,

I placed an order for a shamwari XL in November of 2012, and paid for it then. Still no knife...

Hey Dave,

I'll update the Original page to reflect your order.

Gareth is working on the orders but his original quotes for times are delayed.

Wolf: I'm not sure what the shipping cost are there and back, but I didn't know it was that high with the coat do the regrind. $100 would be about the limit

Dave: yeah, I ordered in a few months earlier than November 2012. I think he will make good, just hoping he is speeding up the process. Let's all hope we don't reach the 2 year mark.
