Gareth bull: Slow Delivery/waitlist thread

I hope that he will contact us soon. I still haven't received the last half of the refund that he should have send me in early December.
I didn't bothered him during the holidays, but I just send him an email and now i'm waiting.

Hope that 2014 will be a good year for him :)

Yah I'm hoping all is well too, Haven't heard from him since before the holidays and I too have sent a couple messages. He did say the engineers will be on half staff until new years but I don't know if there running normal now.

Edit: Gazza contacted me this morning and answered my emails :)

Good to hear.
I'm still waiting for him to reply to my emails and for the rest of the refund.

I'll keep you updated.

he updated his facebook page with a picture showing some pretty awesome knifes.
I got an email yesterday explaining that he will send me the last part of the refund before the weekend.
I'll keep you updated on friday.

He posted some knives for sale on another forum. He should be updating here if he is selling knives.

If your talking about him selling his shard fixed blade, he did post here and explain the reasoning behind him selling them.

He is trying to sell one shard a week to pay for belts, shop costs and any other odds and ends needed to work on customers knives.

Those shards have been available since he shipped out my gem.

#388 is his post where he says this.

Oh yeah, I remember now. The post where he said:

Hi All

I will be updating this thread daily from here on out with the emphasis on WIP pictures so that everyone can see what's going on.

I'm aiming to complete these orders this week:

Dflores
Wolf
Teague

Regards
Gazza

Hi All

Wolf - I can imagine you're hitting refresh often :D Glad it's showing your end, I had heart palpitations when the tracking # wasn't showing!

Now onto today's update : two steps forward and one back...

I spent the morning in the shop grinding merrily. I don't know about other makers but some days are just grinding days and everything works - today was one of those - good start.

I then headed out to meet a local forum owner with massive knife-world experience to hand back some regrinds I've had laying about for far too long and to discuss my moving forward - good day continuing.

Went a little south doing battle at the post office ( another overdue regrind and one of the Shards) but that's expected with the time of year - everything's busy!

And that's where the day hopped the rails. I went round to collect the standoffs for the folders and happily they were complete but looked "wrong" off the bat. Basically a big communication failure. I asked for this batch to be 1mm larger (IN DIAMETER) than my previous ones. What I got back was this:

For those who can't read a micrometer (or maybe just one in mm) the measurement is 4.2mm - exactly 1mm too thick. I'm hoping there's enough metal there to grab in the lathe so that I can have them skimmed to size (this batch of 20 are all 6AL4V and represent a fair investment in materials) HOWEVER it's year-end for the engineers and they open again on the 28th with a skeleton staff.

I will continue with my end of the making, grinding blades and shaping handles but completing knives has been set back by a few days.

Gazza

Oh yeah, I remember now. The post where he said:

Yes then he replied with the quoted above statement saying the stand
offs had to be re done. Yes he hasn't updated in a little while but maybe that's because he doesn't have any yet

I understand you guys want more updates and I do too. Gazza will chime in soon enough.

Soon enough is way into the distant past. Wolf, you're a really nice, very optimistic kind of guy. You've been led on for what, 8 months or so now? I'm sorry, but I don't believe this round will be any different than all the rest in this thread. Same pattern over and over and over ad nauseum.

If I'm not mistaken, not every knife on the list here requires the aforementioned standoffs. Has there been any progress on any of the other style knives? That might be worth a post from Mr. Bull.

If you have any further information from your recent e-mails, please feel free to share here.

Larry

I completely understand where your coming from as well. I'm staying optimistic however.

I do hope Gareth chimes in on this thread with more updates soon.

Posting everyday would be a bit excessive; especially for someone behind on orders, etc. Analyzing is every move and internet post may end up counter productive. I want my knife just as much as the next guy, but GB needs time to actually deal with priority problems I would think. A post every couple of weeks (2 weeks) would suit me fine. Now the refund thing should have been taken care of in my opinion.

Just my thoughts, not that they are worth more than anyone else's....

I agree, Elite_KG that posting daily would be a waste of time and effort. My concern is that Gareth is yet again failing lo live up to what he has committed to.

And it has now been 3 weeks since his last post. :)
