Gareth bull: Slow Delivery/waitlist thread

well its been 3 weeks and a day since his last promise that "it would be done is 2 weeks". :rolleyes:

My apologies for taking a little while to show off Gareth's extraordinary piece of work. The pocket clip broke — through no fault of Gareth's — and I want to replace it so I can carry and use the knife a bit more before reviewing.

OK, djtSA, I'll put on my big boy pants as soon as you pony up $500 US (a little over 5000 Rands), send it off to Gareth for 1 to 2 years, have him miss promise dates time after time, and then quit communicating. Once you've done that, c'mon on back and tell us to stop being schoolboys.

We aren't upset just because we're on a waiting list, we're upset because we have skin in this game. You obviously don't.

I have to agree, I'm genuinely surprised you (DJTSA) are siding with Gareth.

Yes his knives are nice, I can attest to that as I own one. However that doesn't compensate for Gareth's constant lying and never meeting deadlines (while having customers money).

I'm assuming your (DJTSA) shamwari was not payed for ahead of time. Not like it matters though because you live in the same country as him and could take the law to him. We in the states are not so fortunate.

Doesn't really matter in the end though because no ones getting any knives any time soon. Gareth Is gone and only time will tell if he ever decides to man up.

For what it's worth, I visited GB twice in the last two weeks & all I can say is that his bench is full of nearly completed units to fly.... he was so busy that he hardly had the decency to give me the time of day.

Please, I am NOT siding here, just stating what I observed.

Let's hope things are on track......

What is funny to me, well not funny, sad, is that when it comes to threads as soon as one of the complainers receives their knife then, in their opinion, all is right with the world and the maker is great and it just takes some time and.....well you get the drift.

I believe that many of the guys are operating a Ponzi scheme. They are spending the money, needing more orders to fund their lifestyle and expenses. As soon as they get enough orders they make one or several to satisfy the loudest complainers. Then, more orders come in say 5 to 1 orders to made. Sooner or later someone, or several someones is gonna end up holding the bag.

The best way I no to stop this is to not pay until the knife is finished. No exceptions.

Thanks MR, a lot of understandably negative sentiment leading to wild speculation here, its good to have an update. I hope that people will spare that last bit of patience and give him a chance, its a deep hole he has dug, but I know he is trying to face up and get out of it, I for one hope he succeeds.
 
Well, at least there's some hope there. And I hope you are right, but...

Listen djtSA, if you are interested in moving up the list, I'll trade spots with you. But only if you buy out the half-share I already paid from me. You'll get your knife sooner, and I won't be sitting here wondering if I'm getting my money back. Let me know :rolleyes:
