Gareth bull: Slow Delivery/waitlist thread

Hey , I said I was sorry OK! :p

Luckily I am a very patient man ... so I can wait , but I get what the guys that paid are about , it's a business transaction and you normally tie some form of ETA on things.

I also sincerely hope Mr Bull can get himself in a better spot , and I think he is hard at work trying to get orders out ... again not defending the man , just hoping and staying positive..

Well, at least there's some hope there. And I hope you are right, but...

Listen djtSA, if you are interested in moving up the list, I'll trade spots with you. But only if you buy out the half-share I already paid from me. You'll get your knife sooner, and I won't be sitting here wondering if I'm getting my money back. Let me know

Cheers,
Daniel

I wish you did this by email. All transactions should be in the Exchange, even selling a place in line, and you aren't even a Gold member.

Didn't mean to cause trouble--I thought it would be obvious that it was tongue-in-cheek. Not that I'd complain about getting my money back from Gareth Bull in whatever way made it possible. I'm out $175 with nothing to show for it unless Gazza suddenly turns this around.

I think everyone who paid in advance is pretty much in the same boat. Were all in for the long run....

I think at this point I'm only in it enough to read this thread to check up on how out of my $$$ I am up to this point. Been waiting in the big turn around, but now just watching like a soap opera. At this point I really don't feel I've lost hope, but I really don't feel I have much of any either....who knows?

Radio silence from everyone the past week. In this case I don't think no news is generally good news. Are there any signs of progress? Any updates?

I sent him another email asking for an update or a refund... I have heard nothing and received nothing.

I got a response to my last email. He said he had a lot of knives in process. Maybe he does. I figured a response was something, but given that it had no other substantive content than the usual promises, I didn't bother to post. At a minimum, he's still reading email, and perhaps sometimes responding. I dunno.

Expwmbat, any response or news on your requested refund? Just curious if refunds are being issued when requested.

Nope, no response to that at all. I doubt he has the money for refunds either. Our best bet is probably to just keep hoping that he is actually making knives and that we'll get one eventually. I'm sure if we do that they will be fine knives (and that we won't care much about whether they match the original order with regard to blade steel or design), but it remains to be seen whether it will be worth the long drawn out process. And certainly we ought to worry about any issues that might arise after the case, so let's hope we can all take the knives apart and clean them as need be without having to send them back to Gareth.

Not to derail the thread but does anyone know if he carbidizes the face on the lock bar at all?
I managed to pick up a small Warlock on the secondary market and was wondering if i should have this done to prevent premature wear as the lock up is at about 40% and would like to keep it there as long as possible.

as far as i know he does not carbidize the lock face. He uses the same carburization process CRK uses on there Ti frame locks.

So he sent me a pic of the knife telling me it is almost done. Let's see how this pans out

Gareth's last response to me was 27 Jun 2013. Since then I've emailed him 28 Jun 13, 30 Jun 13, 10 Jul 13, 08 Oct 13, 14 Nov 13 & 19 Apr 14. No response has been forthcoming.

well I'll be. Look what came in the mail today. I got back really late today from work so forgive the poor lighting, it doesn't represent the colors particularly well. Everything looks to be in order and definitely looks well crafted. Need more time before i give opinions on the blade.

lockup is very early. Even with a harder flick we're at most hitting 20%
