Gareth bull: Slow Delivery/waitlist thread

Hey Rook, what's up? Why didn't you take a PIC man... nothing like pics to keep the masses happy. :D

Hey all - just got back from a visit to GB.

Not to let the cat out of the bag, but WOW......I just wanted to nick his workbench with all those stunning knives on it......

I'll leave the rest to GB.

:)

The thought of taking pics did cross my mind.......but one glance at Gazza gently stroking the edge of what looked like a huge bowie type blade, made me keep my hand deep in my jeans pockets.

I carried a Spyderco PM2 (M390) right side and my ZT Carbon (S110V) left side......and after looking at his workbench I suddenly felt as if both my EDC's belonged in a junk yard....

Saw just too many absolute stunning pieces of true knife art!!......all on one table.

:)

Haha.... I guess maybe he would prefer not to reveal all his trade secrets to the world.

Hey all

Moses - Sorry I overlooked your mails mate - inboxed you.

Work's going well, I've drafted my brother in to do some grunt work and free me up to finish up knives faster - Wolf - good plan, I'll do a workbench pic this evening :)

Good to have an update of sorts. Any more detailed news on how things are going? Lockbars and clips sorted out, etc.?

Cheers,
Daniel

All i can say is that his knives really do look like they are worth the wait.

Hey Daniel- the clip situation is sorted on both fronts, I managed to find the clips I like and bought a bunch so I don't run out if a supplier drops them again. The pocket fitted versions are also sorted, I've managed to sort out bending them neatly and I have a batch of frames in with the engineers to mill the pockets.

Here's the table at the moment :D On the left are the rougher parts in groups according to their next job, on the right are the most completed knives (apart from the fighter at the bottom - she doesn't fit in the spice rack obviously)

Rookie was keen to take photos Buffalohump :) The ones he was eyeing are my equivalent of top secret so he kindly held off, they're in the pic if you know what you're looking at :D

EDIT: Wolf - incoming
MEJ - thanks for the compliment, some of the waits have been pretty serious though...

You have been busy sir.

looks good, what are the pro tech godfather looking knives on the bottom right?

Those are called Gems, something different to G10 and CF variants. Protech is a good parallel to draw. The design for those took mw absolute ages, I'll explain it all when they're camera ready :)

If you dont mind me asking, how long is your current backlog? Not looking to get on it right now (nor do you seem to have the room) but maybe someday when you are less busy.

I'm actually in the process of switching over to selling completed knives - I shut off true orders a while back. These will be heading out in batches so some of the waits are a couple months separated within each batch. As soon as my orders are cleared I'll switch over to a month by month basis where I'll select one or two types of materials and work in batches until the materials are finished, half my problem was overextending myself on too many options. If all goes well I'll start taking a couple orders a month as of next year until I can find a comfortable limit that keeps the quality up and turnaround short.

I also have some new designs and tricks that I want to release so making stockies will free me up to get those out too.

Sounds like a good idea, looks like you are finding a solid groove.
