Gareth bull: Slow Delivery/waitlist thread

Gareth if you are listening, my b-day is the 10th. One can only hope....

I would love to see a picture on here of the next knife that is delivered. So whoever gets one from today on, please post a pic.

wishful thinking :D

I personally would love to see his work bench of all the knives hes working on.

I hoping to get an email by the end of this week.

I will be very curious to hear whether Bull is selling knives at the South African show while pushing off (or ignoring) so many patient customers.

Not getting a good vibe.

well.... my thought is that hes getting some knives ready for the show so that he can sell some to get money to afford to ship our knives to us.

I'm trying to be patient, but yah that wouldn't look good on him if he sold a bunch of knives at the show with an outstanding backlogged book.

but then again many makers do that at blade. They do it lottery style though.

I've just put this knife out of my mind. If/when it happens, great. Until then I'm trying to forget about it.

But please post pictures/updates if anyone ever gets them. I'm sure having/selling knives at the South African show would be a great thing for Gazza, but it isn't going to really matter if he can't fill orders in a timely manner. As he can't keep up with the business he already has, I'm not sure increasing demand would actually be to his benefit in the long run if it continues to contribute to a reputation of delays. Clearly he builds a terrific product, and I'm sure a lot of people would love to buy it. But they can only buy what he manages to produce.

I know how you feel, I try to put it on the back burner but every time I do I get a tantalizing message from Gazza saying its almost done and then I get all excited about it.

Believe me Im trying :D

You'd pay $300 for a knife and when it doesn't show up as promised you "forget about it"?

Customs take time. I've sent knives halfway around the world to get customized, and have even paid more than several hundred dollars to get it done, and a few have taken many months to get back to me. Like as was said, I just don't think about it. I do keep in contact with whoever is doing the work, but I try not to pester them about it. I'd rather the knife maker take their time and get it done right than rush through the process just for the sake of getting it done quickly.

I'm confident Gareth will come through.

I payed in full.

Any knife maker who expects to be paid in full before making you wait a year(or more) is one I'll avoid. I understand paying in advance for something extra(particular steel for example), but not for the privilege of being on a waiting list.

He didnt make me I just usually do, so I know for sure when its my time down the road, I don't have to come up with fast money to pay the rest.

Gazza didn't make me do anything.

That's good to know. Personally, I don't want to even wait in the dentist's office for more than 30 minutes after my appointment, so I avoid waiting lists. As for paying up front-only did that once with a real gem by the forum name "The Sun". Never again.

I usually don't deal with anyone unless they have a good reputation before I deal with them. I did a ot of research and had and still have confidence in Gazza to come through so that's why I payed in full.

however it does suck when you pay in full to one of the bad guys in this business and then get screwed. luckily I haven't yet.

I have emailed Gareth multiple time, and even messaged him on FB... and heard NOTHING. If I don't hear something soon I might take action with Paypal.
