GEC 215124 Farm & Field Bull Buster

That does look good when they "enhance" handle color with corresponding background, but I'd suggest to not to make your choice based on those"enhanced" photos. I personally prefer pics with contrasting or neutral backgrounds, like in "What's finished so far" section.

Got my orange in hand today. Definitely a nice piece, I think I’ll pass on the lockbacks. My luck has been pretty dismal with GEC lockbacks thus far.

A pattern halfway between the 21 and 71 would be a welcome new knife, maybe call it the 51 and don’t sweat the math.

O1 is essentially 1095 with a little Cr, V, and W added. Interestingly, in Larrin's CATRA tests, 1095 performed a little better than O1. And 420 stainless, which we often look down upon, did the same at Rc 55 as 1095 at Rc 62.
Thank You!!

I actually got in on an early reserve for once for a lockback. Now to decide between natural or black linen micarta.

Edit: I just realized these 21 lockbacks are essentially Mudbugs and am even more excited now.

A little history of the Farm&Field brand!
Bill started out calling these knives Red Neck knives, until he found out another guy was using that name!! Even though he had permission to continue, Bill opted to change to the Farm&Field name, rather than risk future legal wrangles!!
I think he changed from 01 tool steel to 1095 a short time after, by 2015!!!!View attachment 2420490View attachment 2420493View attachment 2420494
Wow I never knew that,F and F is a better name.

Most traces of the name Red Neck have been removed from GEC's website, and relatively few were made! I don't know why Bill stopped using "01" steel??
Anyone who knows about the difference between 01 and 1095 please comment!!
Both mine are 01 I was told it was better material, but I can’t tell any difference.
