GEC 25s - Gots 'em?

My lone 25:

Delectable Horsecut Antique Bone, that. A definite upper-tier "if you can only have one..." knife, #25 or otherwise-- the bone is some of the best I've ever seen on a GEC.

My meagre Barlow quad

Big grin over here, Paul. GEC puts out some great bone of its own (and continues to improve on excellence), but many of early Culpepper offerings still stand out to me-- the Horsecut Antique above, this River Blue Bone, etc. I like your Quad Squad. :D

Well, ~P, I've now read this thread all the way through twice. Must be something wrong with me...all those purdy pictures....

I don't own any #25's yet, but after the twice through reading, what you reminded me of in the photo above is the blade combo I now know am looking for.

As a thread that goes back some years now, I know I'll have to have patience to find my own.

I'm female, too, with relatively small hands, and I just know one of these would be the ticket to some winter whittling. The question being how many winters into the future! I sure hope GEC decides to make more. The thread is a testament to how awesome the frame is in all it's variations, and how many different people with different tastes and needs in knives are drawn to the #25 - and then go on to use it, also, as an EDC.

Thanks, everyone, for the education contained here.

Welcome, and thanks for posting here. :) I know these knives aren't for everyone, but wish that those to whom they appeal could (still) find them easily. I enjoy my knives more when we can all share in them together, instead of knowing I'm likely posting the equivalent of, "I have this and you... can't." :o Good luck on your search!

One of these days I'm gonna get my 2 out and take a picture. Great to see all these everyone!

Sorta like these, for example?

Pertinux asked me to put my 25s in here and here they are, both of em. Wish Id'a bought more.

Rest assured, yours are present and accounted for, pen-behind-wharncliffe and all. :D

(Thanks, Perry!)

I NEED a single Wharncliffe!! Mind you, it's good to have something to look out for - perfection is dull:D:cool:

Right you are willgoy! Speaking of a single blade Wharnie, here's my other 25, a Tidioute in acrylic tortoise shell.
Apparently I only had one other. Man, I've got too many knives,,,,did I just say that?

. Exactly what I'm talking about!!That acrylic is some of the best ever done, I'm very keen on a Conductor I have in it. I believe GEC are going to offer this on a big knife, the forthcoming 54 re-release. Or was that just a vivid dream....:foot:

My wife wanted to get me a new knife for Christmas so I gave her a link to an online retailer that sells mostly traditions and said pick anything you like, secretly hoping she would pick a GEC. It came yesterday and she was so worried I wouldn't like what she picked she let me see it. I snuck this cell phone pic this morning before she woke up. Sadly she has since wrapped it so now all I can do is look at the tube shaped gift under the tree and wait for Christmas. Its my first GEC and I can't wait to get it in my pocket

A superb choice! Well done Kleingra's wife!

I can picture you now, about 04.30 on the 25th, bouncing up and down on the bottom of the bed where she's trying to sleep pleading; "can I open it, can I open it, can I open it???"

What a great gift, and a great choice for your first GEC. You're going to love breaking that little chubber in.

Nice collection of #25s, Paul. I´m sure there will be another on the shore of Scotland, soon :D

That horse cut bone is impressive, indeed.

Vielen Dank mein Freund! I was once comfortable with intermediate German--back when studying the great German philosophers in graduate school. I still have occasion to use it, from time to time.

Yeah I'll be right there with the girls this year ready to go. The nice thing about getting it on Christmas is I'll have all day to use it on pesky toy packaging for the kids.

She really did a nice job choosing. I prefer smallish knifes So it should be about perfect size wise. Also my poor photo does the snakewood a horrible disservice its very beautiful in person.

What's that... Is that hoof prints on my lawn? Pretty big for cattle though... I wonder ;)
